I think one of the most powerful things one can do on the internet to support the movement is to make your feelings known - every where you can. Make your arguments - not just here - but places where you are certain to ruffle feathers, and do it en masse. If someone doesn't threaten to kill me in a comment section or message board on a daily basis on Yahoo News etc. then I feel like I'm slacking. I don't provoke, I don't outright insult people, but I do make a practice of speaking the plain truth as I see it and that is enough to at least expose the ignorant to the various ideas being expressed by the movement.

The mass media loves to point out the disparate messages being expressed within the various protests. I know there are people arguing within the movement, and this is good! Everyone knows that something very wrong is happening - the arguments within the movement, the disparate ideas, will become less so as people within the movement continue to argue and discuss. I pray the occupation continues for an indefinite amount of time (here too we can help, by continuing to talk about it - maintaining the buzz). The longer the protests continue, the more focused it will become. I have faith that the movement will zero in on the true source of the problem and focus it's attention there, while not loosing sight of those responsible for perpetuating the source.

It's the mainstream media's job to portray the Occupy movement as trivial and temporary. The mass media - as I'm sure you have observed - spends as little time covering the message(s) of the protest as possible - they don't want to reinforce the substance of the protests by repeating it, because it's in direct conflict with their corporate sponsorship (and I use "corporate" here to include the banking cartels). They don't want the asleep, apathetic, misguided, ignorant to hear what the protestors are saying, because most of what they are saying is full of Reason, Logic and Common Sense - and for now, that still appeals to most of us, even those who are still unaware.

On a guttural level, people know they are being exploited and abused by a corrupt system, but some are still looking for the solitary dragon to slay. We, here, know that the beast has many heads and I have my own opinions on where the heart of the monster exists. I may be wrong, but I'm going to keep looking and asking questions, voicing my opinions, highlighting corruption and hypocrisy, and raising awareness.

The physically present protestors provide an (essential) powerful visual presence. Large numbers of people will always garner large amounts of attention, but again, you won't see many wide shots in the mass media - I don't doubt that they're being shot (filmed), but they're not making it past editing/censorship. The media will do everything to make this look more like a Phish parking lot and less like Levitate the Pentagon ca. 1967. However, if Occupy can endure through the winter and grow, by spring - the media can no longer sideline it and maintain the illusion of any legitimacy.

finally - OCCUPY "GOOD MORNING AMERICA'.
