Presumably, after reading the 'cleaned up' version of Huck Finn, the kids can go home and listen to Rap.

Here in the UK they're evidently airbrushing Churchill's cigar out of pictures in books used in schools to teach history.

You know what pisses me off? If you look the word up in the dictionary NOW it says the word is a derogatory word used to describe negros, but when I was in school which was only 10 years ago the it used to say that the definition was an ignorant person. Society has made the word very very vulger and bad. I will call someone a **** before I would call them an N word.

I think that was just in some gallery somewhere.
The artist decided to remove it. Why? I do not know.
Apparently it was the only similar image that had been air-brushed.
But, if you know of any school books that have been air-brushed too, feel free to share.

There was this dutch guy who worked in the metal works factory I worked in a few years ago. He had a squinty eye and buck teeth. We used to call him Huckleberry Finn LOL :2thumbsup:

thats intresting.. I hadn`t thought about it before, but women have gone through their share of discrimination (and still do, depending where you are) and in America it wasn`t as bad as slavery or anything, but it definantly existed.

But overall, (in the long term) they`ve gone through easily as many hardships as blacks have.

I don't agree with the idea that women went through the same or even similar thing that black people did...

Perhaps some have forgotten history already. Boats landed on foriegn soil... kindapped anyone they could find... free people... and put them in chains, because of their skin... tortured them, killed them, worked them to death, told them they were animals, chopped their feet off, raped the women, castrated men.

This isn't to say women had it easy, but they definitely were not treated the same or close to how black people were treated.

Not being considered equal is a lot better then not being considered human....
