One band that is good and fairly mainstream is Sam Roberts out of Monteal....Thay made it pretty big here in Canada and it is lyrically nice, got great instrumentation, and they are quite political having a song dedicated to socialism. Ya, all the bands talk about how hard it is to get a deal, its cause noone wants to take a chance on somehitng different....I bet in the 60's and joe scmo with a guitar could get a deal if he played psych music, now its those damn fool who yell at you for 3 min, or "I got dumped so im skatebording" music... mostly crap, some good stuff

Don't you hate it when people refuse to listen to something or assume it's crap just because it's "old" ?

Don't be that way just because it's "new".

All my favorite bands are from the past as well, but I'm just saying, just because it comes out a radio does not automatically mean it's the devil. At least give things a chance.

I'm a 54 year old, and I've listened to alot of different types of music over the years. My favorite is good ol' rock and roll, but there hasn't been alot of good rock in the past few years.

I went on an internet search about 2 years ago, trying to find something that could hold my interest musically. I listened to hundreds of new bands, and ended my search when I discovered the "new" jam bands that are out there. I found the sound of bands like moe., umphrey's mcgee and Robert Randolph, to be refreshing. Started to go to the concerts and discovered that this music was also loved by both the young and old hippies.

All my life, when I've heard great music, I've gotten a tremendous rush of energy, and a tingling sensation down my backbone, and this past couple of years have had me tingling just like the old days.

    I LOVE LIVE MUSIC!!!!
