I agree with Maggot Brain, Suppers Ready, and Octopus (though I find that a weaker album than Free Hand, still a classic however). But for epic Im gonna go with Orient - Don Cherry Gates Of Delerium - Yes Fly On A Windshield/Broadway Melody of 1974 - Genesis The Afternoon Turns Pink - Black Moth Super Rainbow Two Towers - Lightning Bolt
Bathory - One Rode to Asa Bay Moonsorrow - V: Hävitetty (whole album) Opeth - When Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Storm Sleep - Dopesmoker
haha i know this. but sometimes i just like listening to that part of the song. so when i look it up i type "soon" so i can just hear that part. but it's a very beautiful song.. i love listening to it when i'm high and just bask in it's beautifulness
I know what you mean. Well, I mean there's a reason why my screen name is Relayer  I never saw the whole song performed live before, but the last Yes show I went to, they played just the Soon part. It was immaculate, of course! God bless +
Anything by the Doors is great. I like get stoned to my Weird Scenes Inside the Gold Mine vinyl. That whole album. It's two records - Side 1, 2, 3 and 4. Keep smoking the whole time. It's amazing. Of course the "snap, crackle, pop" from the records are great, too.
I told my mom i want to invest in a record player, and she goes "why would you wanna listen to anything on vinyl anymore, it sounds so shitty and old" and i have to disagree.. i love the sound of records, man.
The Soon part of the song, is my favorite too. Edit: I like the whole song, but that part makes me feel something very intense and I love it for it.
that really sucks. i hope they tour again though, that's a band i have got to see before i die.. or they die
I absolutely concur. I can't figure out what happened to my turntable. It's not working. Well, it turns on, because I can feel this little thing spinning. But the spinning thing has to be connected to this elastic thing. And I think I forgot how to hook it back up again. Sigh. Because Weird Scenes Inside the Gold Mine is out of print. And it's ONLY on vinyl. And suffice it to say, I fucking miss listening to it.
For me, the point of listening to records is to listen to it in it's current condition. Even if the sound quality isn't as great as we're used to, no thanks to digital sound systems and High Definition. Tangent: but some people think I'm weird for rocking out to "Brain Damage". How can you not, maaaan? It's music for the lunar lunacies. And I love it. I'll see you on the dark side of the moon! But really... it's the vocalizing that gets me in chorus.
