I think we will have to see the monarchy go eventually to bring us into the 21st century. Inherited power of whatever description is anachronistic in today's age. Unfortunately that means another politician as head of state, but at least a democratically elected head is more legitimate than the current system. The tourism issue is a slide into pragmatism, but I think an important principal is at stake here which should take precedence.
