I strongly recommend Jane Coloccia's book "Confessions of an Online Dating Addict." That book is a fantastic personal account of a consultant's dates with unbalanced clowns, blind people, and garbage men that also treated her like rubbish, and it offers excellent online-dating advice as well.

There really are a lot of decent/genuine men out there who use those sights. I've had a few older cousins who do so. Meeting people at random in 'real life' can be difficult; people have different schedules, different interests, and different abilities/disabilities which can make it hard to meet others. Some people may have a hard time with 'on the spot' interaction which also makes those sites convenient. I've know couples as well who have met online. I'm pretty sure they're not all 'pervy'.

 

Ok well if they arent all pervy then can you weed out the pervy ones I will give you my password etc

I have an aunt her met her second husband online....the family shunned him because of it but I think he was awesome...he stayed with her during a really bad cancer situation and gave her an awesome last year ..she died happy after being sad for so long after my uncle died.

 

..and he looked like spongebobs friend but thats beside the point

 

That's a bummer. But at least she met someone in a time of need.
