I like that they tried to be different but it just didnt work. If i saw it in the theater i would be thinking 'i could be doing this at home minus the cheaply made death scenes,

I can't post pictures right now but the movie was called "Hero" with Jet Li. It was pretty cool; on the level with crouching tiger hidden dragon.

I haven't seen that one. Is it in Chinese too? This one was with English subtitles but I didn't mind.

Beau Geste (Gary Cooper version). It was my second favorite movie when I was a kid. I wish another updated version would be made though.

I think KISS OF THE DRAGON is his best. He totally destroys the whole police department of Paris France.

I don't know where to check it out though. You see, most of the movies I get are from the public library. Since Blockbuster went out of business that's been my primary location for entertainment; so if they don't have it I'm probably out of luck.

I'm sure it's probably on Netflix but what's interesting about me is I don't actually have the internet connected at my apartment. When I'm chatting with you all, I'm at my parents house. That's during the day, then at night I go home and watch movies or TV series on tape (dvd/bluray).

My point is I don't know if the library has "Kiss of the Dragon"! Lol. I'll have to check. Thank you.

I called the library to see if it was checked in and they said it was lost! I wonder if redbox has it.

I don't think Hero was nearly as good as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon!! The latter is one of my favourite movies though ;)
Hero is more on par with movies like Seven swords or even The Forbidden Kingdom (also with Jet Li).

My favourite Jet Li movie is Fearless, by far.

Really?! I guess I haven't really watched Crouching Tiger in a long time. I thought Hero was really good though.

They're kind of different in style. Which style is better remains to be subjective of course :) I didn't dig either Seven swords or Hero a lot (but found The forgotten kingdom to be pretty entertaining! Typical Jackie Chan stuff though but nice fantasy and humor). Movies like House of the Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower are more on par with Crouching tiger imo.

    Did you saw Fearless already?

Great story based on a real person. Although not entirely accurate where it comes to him the time period (around 1900) is beautifully portrayed. But the drama and fighting are also good.
