Tonight I am drinking a beer I have been wanting to try for a while now: Ballantine IPA. This is based on an original British IPA and was first brewed in 1878. 70 IBUs and 7.2% ABV. This is a really nice IPA with a lot of West coast characteristics in its hop profile. Very dank and earthy with a good balance of piney and tropical hop flavors and a nice malt backbone. Definitely a great example of this style.
The description of that Ballantine IPA sounds pretty decent. I certainly wouldn't be averse to trying one. One of these days I'll try another new beer. I'm getting dangerously out of practice! ACK
I just picked up the saranac version. First good new saranac I have had since there imperial stout 2 years ago.
Is this what you're talking about? From the Orkney Brewery site: Cause it looks and sounds fuckin awesome.
Skull Spitter is an incredible scotch ale. If you didn't like it, then you probably wouldn't like any beer of that style. More than likely you're just not used to that type of beer, which is very malty and thus a bit sweet and has a slick mouthfeel.
Yep, it is disgusting all right. no, I clearly don't have a taste for that beer, but I don't have a taste for anything like it, including the foul wheat beer. I know, I'm totally un-Deutsch for saying that but the stuff is majorly whack and to me, wheat beer and the sorts is almost like a meal. I have one half liter or even a Stein, and I'm done.
Tonight I am drinking Six Point Sweet Action Cream Ale. I love the body and mouthfeel of this beer. Flavorwise, this beer is extremely balanced between the hops and malts, giving it a mild flavor which is neither bitter nor sweet. The hop flavor is rounded and subtle, and the malts give the beer a nice, bready backbone. Really an awesome brew which goes down very smooth and easy. It makes for an outstanding session beer.
Tonight I went to an awesome British pub called the Tap and Mallet. There I got three beers. Prairie Ape Snake Farmhouse Ale ROC Brewing - White Tap IPA Bell's Hopslam Double IPA Following this we went to another excellent British pub (my favorite -- The Old Toad) where I had another three beers. Galaxy Sage-I-Tarious Amber Ale Galaxy Andromeda IPA Prison City Passion Fruit Berliner Weisse Prairie Ape Snake Farmhouse Ale Bell's Hopslam Galaxy Andromeda
Now I am at home and drinking some Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin IPA. The pineapple is subtle and compliments the hops nicely in this beer.
I'm drinking Junior Johnson's Midnight Moon Apple Pie Moonshine straight from the jar. \m/. .\m/ The review I wrote when I first opened it: And for once, I can post the picture I posted with my review in that other forum... mm hmm
You're not serious. Are you serious? No way... unless... are you at some "Crap Shit Beer Party" or something?
