    Sounds sweet.
What concerts are you going to?

    Dolly Parton and Weird Al?
    Miley Cyrus and Sting?
    Whitesnake and Wu Tang?
    Grimes and Die Antwoord?

I know y'all basically aren't in Second Life, but it's my damn thread and I'mma post some selfies damnit.
(Really, i'm just sharing my new look and leaving it open for commentary.)

On the left is the old version.
(And still the one in my forum pic, for now.)

On the right, is the new version.
I recolored the skin, changed the makeup/tat work (obviously) and bought new hair.
(The fingernails are no longer blue.)
(Either are my nipples for that matter.)
I'll probably get some new eyes at some point.
Maybe try to make the skin more realistically textured.

But for now... here I was/am:

PS - That shirt is one I made.
If I ever get my store open, it'll be in there. :)

Tonight I am drinking what has become one of my favorite beers, and it's made in my hometown. It's definitely one of the best beers made with chocolate I have ever tasted, and by far the best beer Genesee Brewing has ever made in its long history.

The Republican debate is about to start, but I wanted to post what I'm drinking before we get going.

    The drink:

    (Alc. 7%)
    (Drinking from a pint glass)

Smell: I can smell something dark lurking in there, but also a brighter note of hops.
I could be wrong, but I feel like I'm smelling something nutty in there... but that could just be the madness!

Taste: It's smooth, creamy and well-balanced.
I think I'm tasting something woodsy and is probably where I was getting the nutty smell from.
A bit of smoky flavor with that wood, too.

Overall, a really enjoyable beer that I could drink all night.
Just like the Great Old Ones would want you to believe... before closing their jaws of madness around your fragile human mind!

Listening to this stupid-ass debate is as nauseating as it is entertaining. It's all about fear. Fear, fear, fear....

Anyone falling for this bullshit is truly a fucking moron.

I cant remember ever seeing you talk politics rat.
    Anyway
Was able to stop by Fordham/Dominion on the way up.
JJ Bitting on the way back. They are really just a resteraunt with a small brewpub. The beers were all good except the winter ale. They had 7 taps open.
Stopped by Belford brewing. They are another small one. They only do 70 gallon batches and are only open 2-3 days a week. They had the best tripel i ever had. $17 flight plan i couldnt finish it because i had to drive but out of the many they had there was no bad ones.
Also stopped at Cypress brewing for a taste of their chocolate stout which was out the first time i was there.
Got a shitload of stuff i cant get down here. Really spent more than i should of but hey you only live once.

The concerts were sleater and kinney

Well shit, Peng, that sounds like some fuckin awesome times!

Have you ever made your way to Triumph Brewing?
They have some damn fine food and beer.
I've been to the New Hope one and they have a local farmers/produce section on the menu.
When I was there (almost 4 years ago now) I had an Oatmeal Stout and some local sourced meal... fucking awesome shit.

But I'm still jealus of your excursion there. :p

No have yet to get to that one. I forgot that i also was at Harvest moon brewery on that trip too. They were out of a few things and their beers were average for a micro. But they did have an interesting one it was their porter aged in a wine barrel and dark cherries added. I think it needed to be paired with something. Alone it wasnt as good as the porter alone.

Pretty much i type in brewery in google maps and the closest place to pop up is where i go.

    Y'know... that's a great idea!
I never tried using that method, instead just picking up new shit every time I went to the liquor store.

But using your method, I have several options within a fairly close distance.
    (I wonder if they're hiring...)

Drinking 21st Amendment Brewery's 'Toaster Pastry' India Red Ale, which has a nice citrusy hop flavor up front, but with a lingering biscuity malt backbone slightly reminiscent of pop tarts as the name of the beer would suggest. Good stuff!

Moving on to Stone's "Enjoy By" IPA. This is a double IPA that is 9.4% ABV, and is meant to be consumed before Christmas.

Damn, I wish I'd seen that in my travels.
By the time I get a chance to get beer again, it'll be too late.

That Toaster Pastry sounds like an adventure for your taste buds!

How many of you like sour beers? My buddies tried to get me into fruity sour beers, but I'm not a fan.

Yeah, I've tried one... maybe two.
    Not a fan.

Nothing personal against those beers, just not for me.
    (Or you either, apparently.)

I should stipulate, I'm always game for trying a beer that someone recommends.

I like the taste of some sours but in the back of my head I am always thinking. This tastes like it went bad. Which kind of ruins the enjoyment of them.
    Finally got that enjoy by.
Was lighter and fruitier than I was expecting.

Lambic's are some of my favorites but way to expensive. Picked up 2 high end ones on my last trip. I will pop them open on the next special event.

Now drinking a beer I've been wanting to try for a while (or since I first saw it on the shelves about a month ago). This is an old school Christmas beer that was recently reintroduced after nearly 50 years. It's a barleywine (11.3% ABV), and probably one of the better ones I've had. It is simultaneously hoppy and malty (as many barleywines are), and has a somewhat syrupy body that's suited for sipping at near room temperature like a fine spirit next to a hot fire. Highly recommend for anyone who likes the barleywine style of ale, or simply someone looking for something that's both strong and good.

Moving on to Ommegang's Rosetta. I am really loving this beer, which is a rather rare style called Flanders Oud Bruin. This is an ale aged on cherrries combined with a Belgian yeast, giving the beer a simultaneously sour/tart bite with a yeasty finish. Highly recommended for those who like sour beers.
