so on my trip the big ones I picked up were hardywoods gingerbread stout bells 30th anniversary RIS black boss porter mad elf Kentucky pumpkin ale aleworks jubilee stones RIS aleworks rapadou porter b. nectar strikes back episode 13 (really only got it for the starwars label but I heard its really good, I will be aging it a long while) and....st. bernardus abt 12 2014 magnum edition some of the smaller ones I got were terrepins the walking dead Guinness nitro ipa aleworks evil dead hardywood blueberry ale (or something blueberry anyway) mission root beer and a few other random bottles or cans of things I never had before. after this trip I might have to borrow from my 401k.
Ya gotta tell us how that Gingerbread stout turns out! I really have to keep my eye open for that one, sounds like it could be awesome. And I just realized it's been over a week since I last had a drinkin night. But I probably won't bother tonight either... maybe... I have to be up in time to get my wife to an appointment by 9am, so... I may wait another night or two. For now I'm just drinking coffee.
Well, I ain't drinkin coffee now, bitchez! (Alc. 6.0%) (Cold and straight from the bottle) Smell: Ohh... so yummy. It has a creamy thickness even on the nose, with a strong chocolate/coffee soul. I believe I can sense the milk (well, lactose) ghosting through the whole thing. Just... wonderful. Taste: Taste almost exactly like it smells, just an added bit of smokiness. A little brighter in notes than you would expect, but still as thick and creamy as it should be. It's somewhat comforting, like a blanket for your beer-soul. Overall, I fucking love this beer. It is easily one of my favorites... which says a lot, because I could probably only name a few that would go on that list. Maybe I should try to make a Top 5 list sometime... Anyway, this' some good shit.
maybe it was a fourer.. i dont really remember. yea im pretty sure it as a fourer. i remember now cuzi was kinda pissed that it wasnt a sixer.
Left hands blackjack porter is one of my favorites. I remember taking a sip and not expecting much and i was just blown away and pissed because it took me a year to find it again.
Oh... I just looked that up. It sounds awesome! I definitely want to try to remember to pick that up if I ever see it!
New belgiums ben and jerry salted carmel brownie brown ale is a big major severe disapointment. It isnt bad but i cant say one good thing about it.
Oh man, that's a bummer. I love me some Ben & mothuhfuckin Jerry's! I'm guessing the ice cream rocks, because ice cream. But that sucks to hear the beer is a let down. Granted, I've been SO over the salted caramel fad for awhile now... it just gets gross for me now.
Also, I'm grabbing my second beer of the night now. It's one I've had before, but I had limited choices at the store I went to. (Although, they are the one place that has Alacran tequila and I totally want to try that!) ((It's on my Christmas wish list.)) Anyhoo... The beer I'm drinking: Now, I've had this beer and reviewd it before, but reviewed it again tonight anyway. So, I'mma cut and paste both reviews for your entertainment pleasure. Original, from Feb 26, 2014: Second review, from tonight:
Is it straight rum or like, coke and rum or something? Either way, it's been a dog's age since I've had rum... sure sounds nice.
Oh yeah... I wanted to share this shit with y'all. Some funny shit going on here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06PNWurMNjw
It's rum and cola from Australia. I pay an awful lot for it in Germany, but thankfully in Austria it's easy enough to come by as there are handful of Australian pubs around.
Are you drinking it from the can? *shudder* Please tell me you're pouring it into some kind of glass. Nothing personal... I just don't like metal in my mouth. As in, I use plasticware instead of silverware. And if I have alcohol in a can, I pour that shit into a glass.
From the can. :d Now I won't drink beer from a can but this rum and pre mixed cola tastes delicious from the can.
I can get how a cola mixed drink would be alright from a can. Personally, I'd still have an aversion to the metal can, but I get whatchoo mean.
Beer is always nasty and always tastes like metal from a can. But not Bundy. They must use their own cola because you can never replicate the taste from a can with bottle and your own cola.
