Chum and beer---two great flavors that go great together! -------now we just need a name for this great craft beer. ...Chum Beer. Oh wait... What was I thinking...? Oh my God! This is what chum tastes like?!!! How do fish eat this shit?!!! Damn I should've done a little product research first...
Tomorrow would be 2 weeks with no calorie drinks no sweets and cardio every day. Or it might be a cheat day. One or the other. I would do a lot more running if my calves could handle it. Have to mix in bike riding to give them a rest. Particularly because i have hockey sunday.
Southern Tier's 2XMAS has finally hit the shelves for the season. I saw it at the store today, but have not yet picked any up. I plan on changing that very soon. 2XMAS is basically the Christmas version of Pumking.
I have yet to find a christmas beer i love besides mad elf. Several are good but the elf is the only one i go back to every year.
Great Lakes Christmas Ale Southern Tier 2XMAS Corsendonk Christmas Ale St. Bernardus Christmas Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale Bell's Christmas Ale Samuel Adams Merry Maker Anchor Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Delirium Noel ...to name a few.
Jubelale from Deschutes brewery has been my go-to Christmas beer. This time I need a different recommendation this holiday season.
Had three of those listed none made me look forward to the season so i can finally get them. If i see any of the others maybe i will pick up a bottle.
I am drinking the southern tier 2xmas mouth feel is like a flat soda. not a fan of the spice drop taste but it fades or dulled as I got half way through the beer. I am not upset that I got it but I will never buy it again. I guess Christmas is just not a style I like.
I'm so bummed. I never got to grab any Elysian Night Owl this season. But I'm holding out hope that I'll come across it soon. But, for tonight, I have Yard's Love Stout. No review for it yet, since I'm opening the first one in about 15 - 20 minutes.
I'm sick of the short, dark days and fall weather. I'm ready for summer sun! oh, and since this thread seems to be beer-centric...beer is good.
I enjoy overcast days, rainy days and calm temperatures... so I'm digging the current weather. But I'm weird. And yeah, it wasn't meant to be beer-centric when I started it, but it certainly has gone that way. Not that I mind because, as you mentioned... beer is good.
Went out with my honey tonight to the Hose 22 Firehouse Grill here in Rochester. I ordered the Buffalo-style macaroni and cheese and had three beers while I was there: 2 Bells Two Hearted Ales and 1 Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Afterwards me and my girl went to see the new James Bond movie, Spectre. I am not much a fan of James Bond movies, but it was OK. After that my ever so thoughtful girlfriend who is on her period gave me a really killer blowjob before parting ways for the night. Now I am at home sipping on some beers I had in my fridge, about to crack open a vintage 2009 Bourbon County Imperial Stout by Goose Island, which had been aging in my parents' cellar for the past 6 years until just a few days ago. It will be interesting to see how it has mellowed out during that time.
So moving on to this vintage 2009 stout... indeed it has aged rather nicely. I tried one from this same year 2 years ago and it still seemed to have some mellowing out to go. Now it seems just right. I consumed this 13% ABV mofo at near room temperature to bring out the full body and flavor. Despite the aging, this beer is still very boozy with lots of roasted malts and hints of bourbon, vanilla, dark chocolate and some woody overtones also. The mouthfeel is flat but smooth, with no carbonation to speak of. Definitely a world class brew. Still have almost a case of the bourban county from last year. Trying to save them but every once in a while i crack one open. Made a trip to my friends place just past richmond so i finally got many of the beers i been seeing people talking about that i can never get. I collect growlers and ended up buying 5 of them. Even when i was drinking alot i wouldnt go through them before they start losing quality. The pumpking is gone and started on the back bay ipa. I forget everything i got so i will list them when i get home...or throw up a picture.
