drinking tall tales back draft firemans ale. I just had one but it was way too cold to give a proper review. this one is still colder than an amber ale should be but not so cold that I will call it good if its bad or vice versa. nice malty sweetness but not strong very drinkable slight fruitiness hidden in there. all the carbonation seems to be at the back end. no head but after every sip a fizzle and a need to burp. I could sit here and drink these all day, its like happiness in a bottle. nothing that blows you away. its not like a DAMN that is some good taste but I can honestly say I cant find one thing I don't like about it except the occasional bubble in the back of my throat stopping me from taking another sip.
drinking 90 min from dogfish head. if you are a beer drinker you already had this one. if you aren't then you wouldn't like it...too much flavor. its like a hoppy malty kick in the nuts....the nuts hanging from your tongue. both them bitches just fighting to see if this is a very hoppy beer or a very malty beer. hoppy seems to have the malts in a headlock but cant really grab a hold like his older brother 120 min. malty just keeps wiggling around avoiding any take down moves. in all the commotion alcohol jumps in the ring and takes a steal chair to the backs of both of them and walks out of the ring victorious. edit: that post reads to quickly, you are supposed to read it slowly over 6 oz. of mind numbing goodness. then it makes much more sense.....in my head at least. ps. I had a few other beers before this if it wasn't obvious. I have a few more so I will write about them when I drink them later.
That was beautiful, Pengy. Reminds me of a lot of reviews I've made. AND.. makes me want to try that 90min badly. (I may have previously and not remembering it.) Damn good review! Also, 6-eyed... I could swear Iove had that beer before and loved it. Either that or wanted to, but never got around to it... but am sure I would love it if I did try it. Oh... and I'm drinking my strawberry moonshine again. Except this time, I've mixed it with a little Sunny D (Orange Peach) and then added the same DEWshine. This is a much better mix and I gotta say... definitely feeling it 1 1/.2 glasses in.
people try to be fancy and drink mimosa's or bloody mary's in the morning. fuck that if you are drinking don't disguise it as some sort of breakfast drink. yeah that's right I am having my sunday morning sam adams summer ale. a perfect morning drink, light because I am just looking to chill and not get drunk but with enough flavor that I am enjoying the taste unlike those other breakfast beers like select55 or ultra where you might as well just put a quarter of a shot of vodka in your water during breakfast.
Nice. I was nursing a small hangover this morning at that time. (And into the early afternoon... much better now thank you.)
got a shitload of stuff I never tried before, its all cheap stuff and widely distributed but some of its seasonal and interesting. drinking blue moons pumpkin ale right now. its great for a cheap macro pumpkin beer, its no souther tier not even close but then again what is? very light on the flavor a big negative but at least its drinkable, nice pumpkin flavor but only half way there to being a pumpkin pie taste. I wouldn't recommend it for a pumpkin beer but if its the only one available it will give you your fix.
sam adams octoberfest is next.its got a dry sweetness to it. hard to explain harder to describe its good though, I enjoy it. pretty plain but very well made. no negatives except for the fact that there are so few positives. kind of like describing water except this has a sweet malty flavor that water is severely lacking in.
got shock top pumpkin wheat. the first 2 stores I went to had them both in 12 packs I am glad I went to a third and fourth store because this one is...well, how do you say...exactly like the blue moon pumpkin beer. I would say this one is more enjoyable despite being less pumpkiny but on a 10 point scale they would get the same score. this one is slightly worse only because if you are looking for a pumpkin beer then this one wont even be a substitute. it will just be a meh beer that you only got because the only store near the cabin you are staying at only had bud, miller, coors and this. so in review it is a great beer compared to coors. that dosnt change this from being an average at best beer. and a below average pumpkin beer.
I was craving a pumpkin beer and those were the only 2 they had. I was trying not to expect anything i was just hoping.
How weird... no image results for "Obeer Wan Kenobi?!?" Especially when the actor is Alec GUINESS??!!?? D'OH! Guess this'll do...
Oh yeah... I'm drinking my strawberry moonshine again. This time just mixed with the leftover orange/peach Sunny D. (I don't have a clear cola mixer.) I'm easily past the half-way mark on the jar of moonshine. Not sure when I'll get back to beer, but hopefully it'll be soon. (Mainly because I miss reviewing the beers and y'all are showin me up! lol)
That Night Owl is THE. SHIT. I should really just pick up some of that for my next beer drinkin night. Hmm... the Dem debates are coming up soon. But really, I might prefer a Yard's Thomas Jefferson's Tavern Ale. Seems more fitting. Whatever happens, I need to get at least one 6er during the season!
