It's pretty decent. Got a cinnamon/nutmeg flavor with pumpkin in the background. Not AS good as their night owl pumkpkin ale but definitely decent.
Went to the local pub and they had an octoberfest from goose county. So i never had it so i got one on tap. It was very good. Sweet malty taste. It reminded me of fat tire. Then i remembered that the tap with the goose on it is the same one they used to use for their fat tire.....hmmmmm.
I was wondering about that one. Thanks for the review! (Sounds like I won't bother and just go back to Night Owl.)
So, yeah... I are haz berrs tonite. Only on the second one currently. The first was Coney Island Hard Root Beer. Now, I had tried "Not Your Fathers" before and thought it was an interesting novelty, but way too sweet to really drink it to get buzzed/drunk. But this one... SO much better! I could barely tel there was alcohol and the root beer was tasty, even a bit understated... which makes it seem like I could just drink that shit for the night and be happy. But I only had one, so... that was that. Now I'm whittling away at the second hal... *swig* ...last quarter of my second beer. This one is a "Live" by Southern Tier. It's weird... the label describes it as a "citrusy session pale ale", but I find it a bit ambiguous on taste. The hops are there, the bitterness is kinda there in the backend, there's a bit of a creamy texture at first, but then thins out. The best way to put it is that it's not a bad beer, but I'm left uninspired. I have one beer left after this, but you already know my interpretation of it since it's my last of the Punkin Ales I had.
Hello there. So, I'm drinking again. But, tonight... TONIGHT... is a special treat. Tonight I'm finally diving into my strawberry moonshine: Now, I don't have an extended history of drinking moonshine, so I don't have much to compare it to. Especially not in recent memory. That being said... it's not bad. Fuckin strong and shit, but I could taste the strawberry when I took a shot of it straight from the jar. And while it definitely had a lingering warmth in my chest, it didn't burn like the fires of hell or anything. Now I'm drinking it as a mixed drink, probably about a 1/3 glass of moonshine and almost 2/3 DEWshine (by Mountain Dew) and a heavy splash of cranberry juice. It's still pretty heavy tasting, but it's more friendly with faster paced drinking instead of doing shots until I fall out in 20 minutes.
SO, I was just wondering... what if I spliced a hemp plant and a tree. Or would that be a tree and a hemp plant? Point is... trying to grow a hemp plant into a more tree-like plant. Once that's done, using the hemp-tree for building wood, instead of regular trees. Is that dumb?
Ooh, bourbon aged Arrogant Bastard, eh? I could go for trying that. I'll have to keep an eye out for that!
I like it. It actually gets a slightly lower score on BA than the regular Arrogant Bastard, but I think the bourbon gives it a nice flavor.
I'm a fan of the barrel aged brews. The Innis & Gunn ales that I've tried have all been awesome. Really can't go wrong with those.
I'd like to try a few of the ones pictured there. Like the Pumpkin Dubbel, Black Duck, and Nosferatu... and probably the 2XIBA.
While we're still on the subject of brews: Here's what I'm helping myself to tonight. Old Rasputin Russian imperial stout. 9% ABV. I love dark beer and this is one of my fav's. This stuff is so dark you cannot shine a halogen lamp through a clear glass of this amazing liquid. I've actually tried.
