PR, have I ever mentioned how jealous I am of your ability to get amazing beers all the time? Seriously, it's like you have some magic pipeline or some shit. The worst part is how I want to try almost every beer you post, but none of them are accessible to me. At least I can smile knowing that those beers exist and I get to hear about them.
Facebook has actually hooked me up with a lot of beers I otherwise would not have been able to try. There are lots of beer trading groups on Facebook where you can trade beer and purchase beers that are out of market. So that is how a lot of the beers I drink are obtained. There are people who make regular trips to places like Vermont and Mass, and they bring back beers which they then sell online for a slightly higher price than if you bought them from the breweries directly. The problem is I spend way too much money on beer.
funny how that FB works. got a few local grower connects.. works out nicely, I dont have to do all the hard work..
If only I logged into Facebook more than a couple times a year! I'd be more likely to travel to the New England area than log into that thing, lol. I was wodnering if there was a site specifically for this.. unsurprisingly, there is! Exhibit A: http://thebeerexchange.io/ Not sure if I'll join, but I'm thinking there's no down side to it, so probably will at some point.
Also, I finished that first bottle. Started hitting up #2, which is easily the sweeter of the two. (And, I believe, has smaller bubbles than Lucille did.) Anyfuch... The beer... (G Schneider and Sohn - Aventinus) (Alc. 8.2%) Smell: Sweet banana with a touch of vanilla powers through the front, while a chocolate nib background whispers in your nose. Clove is almost hidden, adding a spiced dimension. Taste: Sweet malted banana in the front, with clove trailing just behind. A vanilla spirit gently permeating the brew. A memory of chocolate rings softly in the distance. Overall, this is on the sweet side, but tasty nonetheless. Commands a slower quaff, which encourages measured appreciation. It's a good outing for what it is, but don't expect to slam these down!
I just gave it 4 stars on Untappd. Where I always have to deftly truncate my original "Taste" portion of my review. Like, for this one: "Sweet malt & banana up front. Clove trailing just behind. Vanilla spirit gently permeates the brew. A hint of chocolate softly in distance." I have a 2006 outing. Which makes me wonder what the 2007 would've tasted like. I shoulda gotten both!
30$ for a wrap and the best mashed potatoes on the planet and a six. I give a 3$ tip. only cause they brought my food to the deck. usually they forget Im out there. where the hell would I be.. if I just bought food and not indoors..
I love Guinness extra stout .. perfect buzz,, not wasted but kinda smashed. ...only one left to the nite nite..
Every time I order this beer I get a sort of "respect, bruh" smile and nod from the waiter/server and then they launch into a lengthy diatribe about their favorite sours. Every. Time. Speaking of sours, a couple of weeks ago I tried a newish brewery in my town, Birds Fly South Ale project. (And actually before I went to the brewery I stopped for pizza and the key lime pie gose and props from the server for ordering it) anywho, Birds Fly South specializes in farmhouse ales and sours. I tried their Juniper Saison and Rhubarb Gose and both were solid. And I bought a bottle of Brand New Eyes Saison which is brewed in a red wine barrel to gift to a friend but I think I need to go back and get a bottle for myself
