why would a town in Indiana have a street named for a 19th century South Carolina politician who was the biggest defender of slavery of his time.
The bare majority is STILL A MAJORITY Biden got the last stimulus check with ZERO republican support, fact is the infrastructure problems should have been handled a long time ago but the buck was passed now it falls on him. Biden is just an old man with a VERY tough job
I feel interested in fiscal responsibility. But I think the U.S. can borrow more and still be deemed fiscally responsible/keep its credit clean. Biden's being targeted by budget hawks claiming that he's leaning into a problematic 'habit' if you will - borrowing without the ability to repay.
Good question, Sherman. The civil war and the Confederate states of America came about pursuant John C Calhoun's ideas. He was in Fort Wayne long before that. The local historians here told me he donated the land where the three rivers meet to the city, so the first base ball field was formed. The first base ball professional game is said to have been played in Hoboken of New Jersey. But there is a record of Fort Wayne and Baltimore playing a pro game here. Calhoun Street is a north to south street here and at it's northern end is all the city and county government buildings, and court houses. There is Headwaters Park now where that old base ball field was at first. There is a reconstructed LOG FORT near there, near exact copy of the one attacked by the Miami Indians under the command of Chief Little Turtle, who gave the US Army its first defeat. After that fight, President Washington sent in General Mad Anthony Wayne to our town, to quell the Miami. That is how the town got its name, and then John C Calhoun came to town.
The price of gasoline took quite a jump last week. “You could argue that the economic outlook has improved under Biden,” he said, “providing a dose of optimism among consumers” that has led to rising prices at the pump. The more prices rise, the better President Biden is doing for you! Gas prices are rising. But it started before Biden went into office | PolitFact
Is it true that Biden identifies as a Zionist? I am guessing that a Zionist would be in Israel's corner on this one. "Biden’s proclamation that he is a Zionist and support for Israel’s right to defend itself throughout his decades in office have rubbed progressives the wrong way." Will progressive pressure lower Biden support for Israel strikes on Gaza?
How much debt did Donnie incur to fill his rich friends pockets with that tax cut - you know, the one that fucked all we commoners .... disguised as a big "standard" deduction..........? Still waiting for that to trickle down from Regan.
Don’t let CNN or BBC reporters fool you. They will claim endlessly that the heart of the conflict is about the so-called “palestinian” issue. But anybody who has studied the history of the State of Israel knows that Israel was being bombed and attacked way before there was ever any form of a national claim by a group of Arabs to the area that is now the State of Israel. Arabs in the Land of Israel sided with The Nazis in World War II and conspired to kill as many Americans and British soldiers as possible Anybody today who can see hundreds of missiles in the skies of Israel and still think that it is Israel’s fault that Israel is being attacked is nothing less than a racist who wants to see the Jewish people driven out into the sea. Forget about it. Israel is not just here to stay. It gets stronger and stronger from year to year.
this sounds like a far cry from reality, and I feel like you're trying to vilify the Palestinians. I don't know the history, but they have every right to live in peace. Amen.
I think the primary issue in Israel is one of communal respect and for me it's so simple/not complicated at all: simply make living in harmony the number one priority. The bloodshed... It's unacceptable in the eyes of anyone who can see. I believe in the power of Israel to live together without infighting. As for our President, I sort of feel torn. I feel like it would be a mistake to disregard the claims of either side in the battle. But the Palestinians have a legitimate humanitarian concern, and I think he needs to stand up for that.
Half the damned country supported Donald Duck too, and if you want an informed opinion on American politics, you have to move to another damned country.
