You evangelical christians put israel there because you are praying for armageddon. The jews had no power of thier own to take that land. they were helped by the imperialist christian nations of the UK and the USA. You think israel would exist by "God's decree" and will if it had not been for the billions and billions given to israel to test the US's new weapons on palestinians? How stupid would all those preachers look when the jews return to zion and are driven right back out. so you give them guns. lots and lots of guns. God does not support the unjust.

 

Well Asadullah, it will not be American guns that will defend the Jews in Israel when the Islamic nations march against Israel in force. The Bible tells us that Russia will some day join with these nations to push the Jews out of the land. These same nations will be armed with nuclear missiles. And they will be the ones calling the shots. On the day these nations march against Israel, the God of the ages will rise up against them, and destroy five sixths of this envading army. In responce, when Russia discovers that their attack on Israel was foiled, they will turn their missiles against America. America and all of her cities will burn, and Americas end will come in one hours time. The world will discover that God allowed the Jews to return so God could show Himself to the World when he defends the Jewish nation. The Jews will discover that the one they rejected, was their God, and all previous Jewish generations are lost. God states that He will protect Israel, BUT NOT FOR THEIR SAKES. God said where ever these people wandered, they polluted may name. God states He will save Israel to magnify His Holy Name, so that all the nations shall know that He alone is God.

 

Does this mean I can get my Ghost-Dance shirt back out and start hoping that all you white folks are going to Disappear

 

Most Christians do not even know the prophecies concerning the Jews returning to Israel. You want to test this... just go to church and ask. You will find that you probably know more about the prophecies concerning the Jews returning to Israel then the Christians in the Church.

So us Evangelicals some how put the Jews in Israel even though most of us have no idea that it is a prophecy of the Bible and a sign of the end times... hmmm?

On top of that, Christians had nothing to do with Moslems failing to open Jerusalems East Gate. Where the Moslems trying to fulfill the Bible prophecy by not opening the gate?

They were driven into Israel by God's wrath. All of them that weren't willing to return (because they did not want to give up their material wealth in other nations) were given a nice taste of it (God's wrath) in WWII. This doesn't mean the whole prophecy will be fulfilled, far from it, that will only happen if God decides against teaching the truth to Christians.

The Bible is the pride of fundamentalists. "God has risen us above the rest! We have the truth!" Unfortunately, if you ever look at your life in truth, you are as humble as your brother hindu, buddhist, atheist, agnostic, or anyone who does or does not know God.

Lemme think, the fairy tale God gave you, or the truth that God gave me. I'll take the truth, thank you, even though I am lower in my own eyes than you will ever be in your exalted fairy tale existence. The passages that you are so badly misquoting are mostly in ezekial, daniel, revelation etc. If you go back and re-read them you will notice that RUSSIA is nowhere mentioned...as a matter of fact russia is never mentioned in the bible at all...not once. Nuclear missles are also not mentioned. Horses, shields, spears, bows, arrows and swords ARE mentioned in these passages, however.
YOU are adding words and meaning to the bible by infering that these passages are talking about Russia and nuclear missles. It seems to me that in the book of Revelation there is a curse added to men that do what you are doing..."if any adds to them (the words in the book), God will add to him the plagues described in this book (revised standard edition)".
there is a difference between interpretation and wholesale manipulation when it comes to bible texts. The christian right in america is into wholesale manipulation for political and (a)moral gains. This is the thing that I despise.

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow... He never changes and neither does His word.... You're "special revelations" must be congruent with the Bible or they are not from God.

 

YOU WILL NOTICE that the word Jesus is NEVER mentioned in the OT... yet you can learn about His whole life in OT readings... Amazing since Jesus did not walk the earth hundreds and even thousands of years after the OT was written.

In Ezekiel 38, God speaks of the ancient tribes of Meshech and Tubal and of their leader Gog. Although these ancient tribal names are not common today, it is important to understand that these tribes settled in the land that we recognize as Russia. So, when the Bible speaks of Gog, understand that God is identifying and talking about Russia. In the Old Testament, God says that Gog will assemble a massive and mighty army that will invade Israel in the latter years. In Ezekiel 38:9, He tells us that this invading army will be so large, that they will be like a "cloud to cover the land." Also, God said Gog would come from the "utter most north." By looking at a world globe, one can see that the only nation to the utter most north of Israel is Russia. Bible scholars knew that Gog was Russia years before Israel even became a nation. One can verify this by picking up a Scofield Bible from 1900. Curiously enough, by drawing a straight line north from Jerusalem on a globe, the line perfectly intersects Moscow. Do not be fooled by Russia and their present passive government. They are only the calm before the storm. Evil war like leaders will be coming back into power. The Bible demands it.

Actually Jesus is the Greek (coine greek which was the vernacular of most of helenistic palastine in Jesus time) word that closely approximates Joshua. There is no greek used in the OT therefore by default the word "Jesus" is not mentioned there. In fact a good many greek words are not used in the OT for that reason...however, Zechariah chapter 3 starts a rather long discourse on "joshua" that most Christians take to be a direct reference to jesus...If Zechariah had been writting in Greek and not aramaic then he no doubt would have used the word Jesus.

 

Ancient scholars recognized that Gog settled in the lands of the scythians which is closer to the southern steppes of modern day russia and kasicstan(sp) and north east of greece and turkey.
Now just because you or any other fundamentalist bible scholar infers that Gog may or may not be the present day Russia in no way proves that to be so. After all you are the same folks that say the entire universe and everything in it was created in a literal seven days and that the entire planet earth was flooded less than six thousand years ago and the entire history of the planet earth is just about six thousand years old at most. Back to my original statement...and it echos the point that you failed to make on your other reply..."Russia" is not found anywhere in the bible and you folks infer that "gog" is russia. In the times of Josephus, in fact, the jews and early christians thought that Rome was gog.
There is a long list of failed modern day prophets that have tried to pin Gog down, too.
Pat Robertson, some what like you, said that it was the USSR and that they would "make their move on Isreal" in 1981 or 1983 (I forget which). I watched him say so with my own eyes on the early 700 club...he said the Holy spirit told him so. He had maps and everything...then he asked for money, of course.
Oral Roberts has made the same claim but then again he has seen thousand foot tall Jesuses before too.
In the 1930's most churches preached that Gog was Nazi Germany...
