Actually, it is scary. I'm glad some people here are listening to what I said. Remember the most important function of a government is to serve and protect its citizens … not to make the rich richer. Trump's policy of sending in unprotected state department workers was asinine. Trump is the reason this illness has spread in America.

i'm not sure if you're requesting a deep thought, or just an explanation. but i'm not feeling deep, so to explain: lunch money shake downs happen a lot on tv and in literature, but i've never heard of it happening to a non-fictional character.

 

Back during the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic, the government did its best to serve the people. No sooner than Trump appointed Pence as Czar of Corona, they went to play golf. Trump has spent more than $150 million of taxpayer money on golf during his first 3 years in office. His son Eric has been spending taxpayer money on business trips to Uruguay. And the people are going to need government services during this Corona Virus outbreak.

Opposite here. That (and your typical sense of humor) is why I thought you were provoking a laugh. I've only experienced it IRL. I guess that's where they got those ideas from hmmm. I'm not much of a consumer of tv and novels. I remember it being mentioned in passing on "Young Sheldon" (best current show on TV IMO) but they can't show it happening without misrepresenting how it went down because they'd be cancelled in today's "pc" entertainment culture.

The Republican Hoover caused the Great Depression with stupid government policies which allowed business to run wild. The Nixon administration caused high inflation which gave us a big recession. The Bush administration allowed the mortgage lenders and big bankers to do anything they wanted which resulted in a near total collapse of our economy. Obama saved up from a 40 year depression. Now we have Trump who has ruined the EPA, BLM, and the Department of Interior to the point they cannot serve the American people. He has sold off public lands at a rate unknown for more than a hundred years. He has ruined the DOJ to protect himself from criminal charges. He has appointed unqualified judges to the courts. He has damaged the separation of church and state to give preference to Christians. And he has brought us into another nuclear arms race. If that's not enough, Trump has now diminished the ability of the government to protect the public during a global health emergency. He cut off funding to the very federal agency which would handle Pandemics like Corona Virus. Now the disease has spread to 32 states, in just a few short weeks. The low intelligence Republicans know this and continue to support their buffoonish leader.

 

So let me get this straight? The Great Depression began in 1929, Roosevelt became president in 1933, and the depression continued for the next 10+ years. 1929-1941. And you attribute it ending to him?
What ended it was WW2. America entering the war. There were 17 plus million unemployed Americans. 12 million were sent to war. Similar numbers toiled in defence related jobs. He merely traded unemployment for debt and sending off unemployed people to war, many who were from farms and many of whom died.

 

In Canada it was the conservatives who got us out, not the liberals. For Canada it started to turn around in in in 1937. Liberals refused aid. And we can thank the British for their support in this,

 

I have noticed over the years Republicans seem to have a uniform sense of an alternative reality. They think their fake capitalism is the answer to all the world's problems, and that Jesus will return to earth to set up God's kingdom on earth, exclusively for white people who own guns. I often hear these Republicans say they believe in the Second Amendment, and that they have a nice truck. The clue about their sense of Republican identity is obvious. They seem to lack the ability to pronounce "Nice Truck" but pronounce it "Naaace Truck."

 

Then you have those who think that you can multiply wealth, by dividing it via redistribution

 

And there are persons who understand mathematic better than the low IQ Trump follower.

 

Are you one who understands mathematics? Do you believe in IQ tests and their results as a valid measure?
