Whoa ! Boiling frogs ! I'm not a very intelligent man, but i have always had an uncanny feeling about the way things are. I sum it up as another cycle of the dreaded, "Kali-yuga". Thanks Maon. I needed this today. :)

There's a problem with what this guy says. He says until 1960 there was no argument against the idea that our culture was right; no one was saying the world wasn't here for us to exploit. But there was a hippy-ish movement in Germany in the late 1800's which is the direct predecessor to our American hippy movement. In fact, this site argues that the Germanic movement is directly tied to the old paganism left in Germany, since Rome never conquered it and it lasted longer there. So through the ages these ideas have been around, and at least in the 1800s it was becoming well known. He's right that it wasn't big in America until the 60s, but I don't think this guy is looking at the whole world; mostly the West, and most of all the USA. (see: http://www.hippy.com/php/article-243.html)

The only thing I think this impacts in this guy's theory is the fact that our boiling frog syndrome is tied to population. The Germanic movement was before the world wars when population was lower, meaning this cultural collapse isn't going to always be in this order nor, perhaps, is it tied to population growth.

And weren't the Pagans in Europe part of our culture, this ultra-surplus farming, this exploitative culture? Seems at odds with the facts. The pagans were earth centered, but also farming like we do now (make as much as possible). So they didn't see the world laide out before them to be used and abused however they wished; wasn't it mostly just the Jews who had their god telling them to use the earth as they wished, most other religions have a more balanced teaching? So when he says "genesis didn't teach us this, we taught this to the writers of Genesis" I just see him being too focused on Judeo-Christian-Islamic culture, and forgetting the earth centered cultures.

Your absolutely right, but its a shame that the uninlightened mock us, i dont care what they think of us but do you think its fair that they destroy gaia like this.Twice before jehova has destroyed the race of normal man for what they stand for and the third and last is neally among us but come to think of it do i really care? Its not that i will be saved because im evolving well thats untrue because we will all be judged sooner or later, all we can do is prepare for it. All we can do is inform the ones that are ready to accept the knoweldge, well its not like they have been blind to this they only need to use there mind which only a select number of people can. Well you allready know this but i just wanted to let you know that your not the only one its just a test from him which most people will never work and become selfish and think that they are the chosen one. may peace be with you

Far too many Christians think that they're the chosen ones with exclusive knowledge, arguing with remarkable self-assurance. We'll all be judged one day? The only judgement I can feel is from the self-rigteous....

which everyone is unaware of, has forgotten or as is the case for most simply don't care.

The world sucks, its a fucked up place and the sooner the thorn in its side is removed the better.

Eh? You look forward to armagedon? Perhaps you are more hide bound by judeo christian mythology than you'd like to think. I feel this christian "milenial"
attitude, always anticipating the end of the world, is a big problem in our culture. This supposedly inevitable end looms large in the imagination. What's the point of trying to change things, we already know the ending.
I agree that the totalitarian agriculture we see is wrecking the plannet, but agriculture has been a great benefit to humans. It is capitalism, based on constant growth which is the root of the problem.
We have countries in africa and south america, who's populations suffer malnutrition, exporting food, tobacco, and coffee to the west, this is effectively genocide, caused by market forces. (i am smoking a cigarette and drinking coffee)
There are too many people in the world to be sustained by hunter gathering.
In our privilaged possition it's easy to romanticise the hunter gatherer way of life, the reason it is sustainable is that they have a shorter life expectancy, their population does not grow so fast as many don't live long enough to reproduce.
I think there are enough resources on this plannet to sustain us all.
