Hey all I just started in this forum really cause I've never had dreads before, but I'm actually pretty interested in getting them started although my gf will not be too impressed with my decision. She's a square by the way so yeah... anyway Just a few questions I had about getting them started before I check out the rest of the forum... How long should my hair be before I start them.. it's always been really short cause of the military and since I'm out now (yay) I just stop cutting my hair altogether. So now it's all super shaggy and stuff but I should say that I am hispanic and my hair is uber thick and poofy so I'm not so sure how well this will work out for me. Not to mention I'll probably look horrible with dreads but meh, why not right? If you have any suggestions or experience with a situation similar please feel free to respond with any available info. Thank!. Peace. Love. and Truth

My locks have gone fuzzy now, but they are still coming along. I'm getting some natural dreading in the back, which is hard to get a picture of. Here I am at three weeks, excuse the tired look!:

heylo everyone! i'm micki and my dreadies are just over three weeks old (on the outside. they've been growing in my head for about four years and i finally let them come out and be born into the world). they're all cute and blonde and different lengths, and some people keep telling me to put wax in them cos they'll look neater (i look like a little troll now, i love it!) but they dont know about the evils of wax .. i backcombed to start them off a bit and now i've just left them to do their own thing and am really happy with how they're coming along on their own. i use an awesome neem/tea tree soap to prevent any scary bugs and rub some hemp seed oil with other lovely smelling oils in it occasionally to give my scalp a bit of a treat. the ends are all wispy and there are random loose hairs that are yet to find their way but they will get there, i love them :D sorry dont have a pic at the mo :(

yeah upload your photo onto photo bucket or something. then go to the user control panel, and hit "edit signature" and then copy the IMG code underneath your photo in photobucket. and paste it into the signature thing. thats what i did. hope you understand everything

ok. up at the top, there's a button that says "top 100 forums" to the left, there is one that says "user options" in the little menu that pops up when you click it, choose "user control panel" then, at the left, right under the white letters that say "control panel" there is a button that says "edit signature"

Ok so you might think I'm mad but there is no application saying 'edit signature'! There is edit email & password, profile, options and avatar but no signature! (Thanks for being so patient : )
