The Dread Thread! *knoughty pictures inside*

Hopeful someone here will beable to answer my question! How do you go about dying your dreads? Do you bleach them first? I really like the multi colors you got goin on, how do you do that? What do you do if you dont want to dye all of them? I have tons of questions...

 

well im not sure what all the hoopla behind dying dreads is but i just put the dye/bleach wherever i want that certain color
if you want a really bright color and your hair is naturally dark then i would obviously suggest using bleach first...
and for me it has actually been easier to dye my hair now thats its dreaded...i wish i knew exactly what you wanted to do then maybe i could answer you better..
and as for the different colors i have.. i love it but i don't stress to much about my hair so when i dyed it i didn't separate and tie the dreads back to keep the colors separate.. i just started adding color and went from there.. i like accidental hair styles the best...

 

i have never died my hair before, and neither has my dad so we dont really know what to bye or do really. I want to dye them all difrent colors, like purple, but my hair is like dark blonde or light brown.

ok well the thing to know first is that you bleach isn't a dye.. you find it in the same isle at wal mart but its a stripper so it takes alot out of your hair.. but for dreads thats not such a bad thing...
so bleach your head and then buy some sweet colors from someplace like hot topic ... they have all kinds... there mostly demi permanent so know that the colors will change after a few washes and then just go to town... grab a dread and with some gloves on =0 squirt a bit of dye into your palm and the cover the dread... you won't get the inside of the dread but thats ok
if you want to make sure your not getting colors mixed as the dreads touch the i suggest using tin foil to wrap them in ... just make some strips then pretend its a blanket for the dread and wrap it up and push it aside... its pretty easy and just remember if it doesn't come out exactly the way you want with all that going on (colors i mean) nobody is ganna notice
