I have a few friends with dreads. They're all cool people and are liked by most. The black kids with dreads all mock the white boy with them, all in good fun though. My friend James just got kind of short dreads and they stick up on their own, he looks a little like Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons. I wish my hair was fit for dreads.
i'm not sure where to type this but does anyone have any good ideas to do with dreadlocks for prom? mine are almost at my shoulder, the back and some of the side are, the front is around my chin area.... any ideas for prom styles?
damn those look awesome and you did them yourself too any tips on doing that, i dont know anyone that would want to dedicate that much time to my hair other than me, lol
Irie is a Summer Solstice baby - hence her name Irie Solstice - however I can not tell you her full first name for it is to beautiful for text (and I don't want anyone else to ever have her same first name!) Irie is derived from her real name! to answer the other ? me locks have been growing me since Autumn 1997 (all natural)
RobbyRedLocks, that´s a great picture! just beautiful, man here are two of mine. they´ll be four years this summer:
hey what's up Wisconsin dready!! nice locks dare'! you should come down to Rockford on June 11th we are playing at Minglewood - it's a way hip venue all the hippy kids chill there -Mary's is quite hippy friendly too we are there on the 4th of July here's their links - www.Minglewood.us www.MarysPlaceBar.com ??know of any Dread friendly joints in Wisconsin that want smokin' live reggae??? let me know - bytheway - we got a couple real nice disc golf courses here in Rockford, IL (we're right on the border of WI if u didn't know) they just made the old one twice the size - I see you're into dat!!
RobbyRedLocks, thanks for the info, man. i´d love to come on the 11th - depends on my work, though. i´m already taking a lot of time off for Wakarusa and since that´s right around the same time, im not sure if i can get off more days. but if i can, i´ll try to be there! as for places in WI to play, Eau Claire has a decent scene for being Eau Claire (that´s where i am now). The House of Rock (http://www.house-of-rock.com/), the Mousetrap, The Stone´s Throw (http://www.thestonesthrow.com/) and... that´s about it for bars and such. The Acoustic Café (http://www.theacoustic.com/eauclaire/home.shtml) has live music on the weekends. it´s a coffee place with awesome sandwiches and other shit - usually it´s smaller/local acts that play there. always free, always a good time. THen there´s The Cabin on the UW-Eau Claire campus (http://www.uwec.edu/studentsenate/UAC/cabin/) that ocassionally has bands and performances. it´s really small, but i´ve seen some good reggae there before. not sure if it´s open for the summer, so maybe just during the semesters. my suggestion would be to check out the house of rock and the mousetrap first, then check out the other places. but those two are the best, in my opinion for the bar´s layout and sound. if you´re looking for outdoor places, Black River Falls in about 45 min from Eau Claire - that´s where the Big Wu Family Reunion takes place plus some other newer campout festivals. i´m pretty sure it´s called the NCN (North Enterntainment complex and campground) if you´re interested, check out places in Madison or the Twin Cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul). i´m not too familiar with them, but A LOT of good music comes through them. oh, same with Milwaukee. hopefully i´ll catch ya playing some time, man!
Here are some pics of me this morning. My dreads are only a few days old and I'm not even done yet, but I'm so happy with them!!! Whatcha think? Here's a close up!!
