i think so ... dudes and dudettes... broaden your spectrum. there is OTHER music to be listened to... if you like the doors, then try... well, iwas gonna list some, but its really a waste of time, since youll prolly just go on adoring the doors. i mean, it IS a phase... i went through a period of time myself where the doors were pretty much all i listened to. i still like the doors... i mean, they have a lot of groovy tunes. but there is so much out there... so much

Young dude, time alone will show you the error of your ways. Sigh. Oasis's latest album is quite simply piss poor.......and, again, years from now you will see this is the case. They will NEVER be as good as the Doors were, what with their tiresome Beatles/Slade rip-off act, and bearing in mind the Doors happened so long ago, it's high time some of the contemporary bands deilvered the goods. Oasis, however, are not the band to do it. Sorry.

Jeeezzzz, what they teachin' the kids these days, mama? Start by finding out the history of the beat poets, beatniks, hipsters, Kerouac, Ginsberg, San Francisco's Haight Ashbury scene in the mid to late 60's, Monterey 1967, etc etc.

i wasn't there but, didn't the term 'hippy' came from some newspaper columist(sp). 'Hip', meaning "in the know", didn't come from hippy. it was already a slang word...so 'hippy' came from 'hip' and calling him a clown after mixin that up isn't helping your argument...

 

Jim is/was like Ozzy Osbourne. Not a very good singer technically, but no one would do the stuff they do better than them.
