Trump chickens out again.

He has delayed further increasing tariffs by a year that were set to begin on January 1, 2026 for upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities.

He had already placed 25% tariffs on those products and was going to further increase them. Tariffs on kitchen cabinets and upholstered furniture would have risen to 50% and 30%, respectively.

Late in 2025 Trump chickened out on his tariffs on a number of imported foods after the price increases it was causing consumers.

 

He make such statements while giving out what he calls 'war dividend' cash payments to military members.
