Trump to attend another UFC event.

UFC fans share what they think about Trump ahead of O'Malley-Dvalishvili showdown

    excerpt:

Would rather see Saturday's matchup between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O'Malley or see Trump and Elon Musk in the ring?

"I'd much rather see the UFC than see two bloated billionaires fight each other," Paul Gordon said.

"Probably Elon would be kind of funny, but I gotta go with what's happening tonight, it's gonna be better," Chris Wright said.

Donald Trump Boasts of ‘Big Win’ Over ‘Fake News’ AP After Court Rules White House Can Ban News Outlet’s Access Over Its Refusal to Cite ‘Gulf of America’

    excerpt:

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, in a 2-1 decision Friday, ruled against the AP, which had sued three Trump administration officials in February over a ban on the news organization’s access to presidential events as part of the White House press pool. The White House blocked the AP after the outlet continued referring to the body of water on the southeastern periphery of the North America as the Gulf of Mexico, after Trump decreed on Jan. 20 that henceforth it should be known as the “Gulf of America.”

Trump will be patting himself on the back for lower tomato prices.

Some of his supporters will say "Thanks, Trump!" like they did when gasoline prices dropped due to the failing economy during the Covid pandemic that was partly due to his bungled approach for not accepting reality..

    excerpt:

"Hayden’s firing continues the president’s pattern of dismissing women or people of color from some of the most senior administration positions. He fired Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., who was serving as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the second African American to hold the position. (Colin Powell was the first.) At the same time, Trump jettisoned Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations and the first woman in that post.

In early February, Trump also dismissed Colleen J. Shogan, who was the first woman to serve as archivist of the United States. Trump presumably holds a grudge against the National Archives over his retention of classified documents, an FBI search of Mar-a-Lago and the subsequent indictment against him that was eventually dismissed."

The good, bad, and the ugly.

Trump fires the good and hires the bad and the ugly.

    excerpt:

"Pirro is a longtime friend of the president. She was a judge and prosecutor in New York’s Westchester County, but that was three decades ago. She tried unsuccessfully to run for statewide office. Later she turned to television, where she became, among other things, an outspoken defender of the president.

After the 2020 election, she promoted falsehoods and conspiracy theories about hacked voting machines. She was not the only one pushing these lies on Fox, which prompted legal action against the network. Fox News settled one lawsuit for nearly $800 million.

The second personnel move was revealed later Thursday. This was the shocking decision to fire Carla Hayden, the well-respected librarian of Congress. Her termination notice came in the form of a curt email from the deputy director of presidential personnel that ended with, “Thank you for your service.” This apparently passes for courteousness by the president and his team."

Trump stumbles on steps up to Air Force One

    excerpt:

Asked if he would deploy troops even without invoking the Insurrection Act, Trump said, “We’re going to have troops everywhere. We’re not going to let this happen to our country. We’re not going to let our country be torn apart like it was under Biden.”

Los Angeles protests live: Police order protesters to leave downtown Los Angeles as Trump says 'bring in the troops'

    excerpt:

California Governor Gavin Newsom says he has "formally requested the Trump administration rescind their unlawful deployment of troops in Los Angeles county and return them to my command".

In a post on X, the Democratic governor says: "We didn't have a problem until Trump got involved.

"This is a serious breach of state sovereignty - inflaming tensions while pulling resources from where they're actually needed."

White House Realizing That Elon Musk's Incompetence Caused Huge Problems for the Government

    excerpt:

"Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) moved fast and broke things in Washington — and now Donald Trump's administration is left to clean up the mess.

As the Washington Post reports, federal employees who were fired rapidly by DOGE cuts are now being rehired to their old positions or asked to join different departments amid Musk's departure from government.

From the Food and Drug Administration to the Department of Housing and Urban Development to at least six other agencies, workers fired during the unelected billionaire's federal firing frenzy are being asked by officials from Donald Trump's administration to come back to work — but not everyone is interested in returning."

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/us/transgender-girls-athletes-california.html

    excerpt:

"Meanwhile, the political debate over the issue has grown increasingly heated. Mr. Trump has made it a high priority to rid girls’ sports of trans girls, even though there are very few of them competing: Among the 5.8 million K-12 students in California public schools, the number of trans athletes was estimated to be in the single digits, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office said."

The next time a trans youth competes in an event, Trump can send in the National Guard to literally block the person at the sporting event, the opposite of how it was used in the 1960's to facilitate the admission of minorities into schools whose access had been blocked by bigoted politicians.
