Trump concocts one excuse after another for not returning Garcia to the U.S.

Trump says he's not a good person. He also insinuates that Garcia being in the U.S. was a mistake made by Biden.

Those are personal beliefs of Trump, not appeal to the law.

It remains to be seen how much further Musk's mental health will deteriorate.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/05/elon-musk-doge-opponents-dc/682866/

    excerpt:

"Musk came to Washington all Cybertrucks and chain saws, ready to destroy the bureaucracy, fire do-nothing federal workers, and, he bragged, save taxpayers $2 trillion in the process. He was a Tech Support–T-shirt-wearing disruptor who promised to rewire how the government operates and to defeat the “woke mind virus,” all under the auspices of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency.

For weeks, he and his merry band of DOGE bros gleefully jumped from agency to agency, terrorizing bureaucrats, demanding access to sensitive data, and leaving snack wrappers on employees’ desks. But as Musk winds down his official time in Washington, he has found himself isolated within the upper reaches of the Trump administration, having failed to build necessary alliances and irritating many of the department and agency heads he was ostensibly there to help.

His team failed to find anything close to the 13-figure savings he’d promised. Court challenges clipped other projects. Cabinet secretaries blocked DOGE cuts they said reduced crucial services. All the while, Musk’s net worth fell, his companies tanked in value, and he became an object of frequent gossip and ridicule."

Trump’s second term will be the worst presidential term ever | Steven Greenhouse

    excerpt:

"Trump has felt a perverse need to trash the US because his insatiable ego demands that he be able to claim, however falsely, that he made America great again. It’s hard to deny, though, that second-term Trump is making America less great. He’s taking a wrecking ball to our democracy, rule of law, alliances and scientific research – the list goes on. Trump 2.0 means decline, not greatness."

Trump’s second term will be the worst presidential term ever | Steven Greenhouse

    excerpt:

"The most dangerous part of Trump’s agenda is his war against our democracy and constitution – defying judges’ orders, deporting people without due process, pardoning hundreds of January 6 criminals, calling to impeach judges who rule against him, suggesting he will run for a third term, using federal agencies to take vengeance against his perceived enemies, and banning books from military libraries. Underlining his contempt for the rule of law, Trump has even talked about disappearing US citizens to foreign prisons where they could be locked up for ever. For anyone who cares about democracy and basic liberties, this is Defcon 1 stuff."

No U.S. farmers or lost souls left behind by the Great Recession at Trump's super exclusive crypto coin private dinner to promote his meme coin.

After nine years, his down-and-out supporters are expected to give him more chances to redeem himself in the hopes that he will finally give them a chance.

At Trump's $148 million meme coin dinner, 'the food sucked' and security was lax, attendee says

    excerpt:

"The price of President Donald Trump's meme coin plunged 16% as of Friday morning, just hours after he hosted a black-tie gala at his Virginia golf club for its biggest buyers — an elite crowd that spent a combined $148 million on the token for the chance to be there.

It was billed as "the most exclusive invitation in the world."

Maryland father mistakenly deported to Salvadoran prison really did flee to avoid MS-13 gang, his teacher and a classmate said

    excerpt:

"A Maryland father who was erroneously deported back to El Salvador really did flee his home country to avoid gang recruitment, school records obtained by The Washington Post show.

There is no official evidence linking Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the MS-13 gang, despite repeated claims from Donald Trump’s administration.

The president and administration officials claim Abrego Garcia’s tattoos are evidence of alleged gang ties, but law enforcement officials and gang experts say they do not definitively indicate any gang affiliation."

FTC drops Biden-era suit accusing Pepsi of price discrimination

    excerpt:

"Former FTC Chair Lina Khan, who led the commission when the agency brought its case against Pepsi, criticized the move Thursday as “disturbing behavior” by the agency.

“This lawsuit would’ve protected families from paying higher prices at the grocery store and stopped conduct that squeezes small businesses and communities across America,” she wrote on X Thursday evening. “Dismissing it is a gift to giant retailers as they gear up to hike prices.”

The decision comes little more than a week after top-ranking Democrats on Capitol Hill sent a letter to Pepsi demanding more information about its pricing strategy. They sought to revive a Biden-era focus on price-gouging as a driver of inflation, an argument that has taken a back seat to the Trump administration’s attention on purportedly unfair trade arrangements."

It's being destroyed from the inside-out.

Musk and Trump are the same as an insurgent who sneaked into the government and sabotaged it.

He's doing it right out in the open and his party stays quiet about it.

Trump news at a glance: don’t trade threats with us, EU warns

    excerpt:

As he continued his on-again, off-again tariff war with much of the world, Donald Trump went on social media to complain that the EU was “taking advantage of the United States on trade” and not coming to the table about it. “Therefore I am recommending a straight 50% Tariff on the European Union, starting on June 1, 2025.”

The EU’s trade commissioner had a call with the US trade representative Jamieson Greer and Trump’s commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick. Maroš Šefčovič said afterwards: “The EU’s fully engaged, committed to securing a deal that works for both.”

Saw the Trumpster Saturday at West Point, giving the comencment address to the graduates of the military academy. First of all ; remove the MAGA hat. This is a non partisan event. Try to represent the entire nation. The Graduation is not about you Donald . Keep it short and sweet and let the Grads shine

Oh Boo hoo if we like Pepsi and it's customers we can put a stop to selective sales taxes on soda in certain jurisdictions. In Philly it's a tax on sodas; so people skip the bodega, get in the car and drive up to Bensalem to buy soda tax free at a big box place. How does that help?[/QUOTE]

Trump Profits Like No Other President, as Outrage Is Muted

    excerpt:

"Yet a mark of how much Mr. Trump has transformed Washington since his return to power is the normalization of moneymaking schemes that once would have generated endless political blowback, televised hearings, official investigations and damage control. The death of outrage in the Trump era, or at least the dearth of outrage, exemplifies how far the president has moved the lines of accepted behavior in Washington.

Mr. Trump, the first convicted felon elected president, has erased ethical boundaries and dismantled the instruments of accountability that constrained his predecessors. There will be no official investigations because Mr. Trump has made sure of it. He has fired government inspectors general and ethics watchdogs, installed partisan loyalists to run the Justice Department, F.B.I. and regulatory agencies and dominated a Republican-controlled Congress unwilling to hold hearings."

Trump Profits Like No Other President, as Outrage Is Muted

    excerpt:

"When Hillary Clinton was first lady, a furor erupted over reports that she had once made $100,000 from a $1,000 investment in cattle futures. Even though it had happened a dozen years before her husband became president, it became a scandal that lasted weeks and forced the White House to initiate a review.

Thirty-one years later, after dinner at Mar-a-Lago, Jeff Bezos agreed to finance a promotional film about Melania Trump that will reportedly put $28 million directly in her pocket — 280 times the Clinton lucre and in this case from a person with a vested interest in policies set by her husband’s government. Scandal? Furor? Washington moved on while barely taking notice.

The Trumps are hardly the first presidential family to profit from their time in power, but they have done more to monetize the presidency than anyone who has ever occupied the White House."
