Trump shuts down JFK Library until further notice.

The National Archives says it will reopen.

JFK Library to reopen, citing 'executive order' for sudden closure

    excerpt:

"The JFK Library is a really special place. Every day, people from around the country & world visit to find inspiration from our 35th President. Trump let DOGE shut it down," Rep. Jim McGovern said in a statement."Meanwhile egg prices are through the roof and he's wasting money on publicity stunts at the Daytona 500."

Who cares? Ratings never bothered him before - he can do as he pleases, he's not going away any time soon and he sure as hell won't be impeached.

Oh come on, did you really think he would ever get spanked for anything? The worst punishment he will ever get will be painful angina on the third tee, right before the widow maker takes him out.

Trump's national security advisor, Waltz, tells Ukrainians to 'tone it down' and sign the deal.

The deal offered by Trump is that Ukraines gives up half of its natural resources to Trump.

Ukraine should 'tone it down,' sign Trump mineral deal, Waltz says

    excerpts:

"Responding to the discord, Waltz told Fox News that the Ukrainians "need to tone it down and take a hard look and sign that deal," referring to the proposed minerals agreement."

"While Russia continues to blatantly lie about not attacking civilian critical infrastructure, we are witnessing multiple missiles targeting Ukrainian gas mining facilities at once," Galushchenko wrote.

"Such actions of the enemy prove only once again that Russia is trying to hurt ordinary Ukrainians, plunged into the cold in the middle of winter," he added. "This is outright terrorism."

The favorable opinion of Trump by people under 30 has dropped 11 points in just two weeks in February.

    Donald Trump's popularity changes direction

    excerpt:

"Two weeks ago, 50 percent of adults under 30 had a favorable opinion of Trump, while 46 percent had an unfavorable opinion; today, 39 percent have a favorable opinion and 57 percent have an unfavorable opinion."

Voter remorse appears to be setting in already.

The younger people may have been easier for Trump to dupe with his campaign rhetoric, as they may not have been as experienced at seeing through him. Some were were children and teens during his first term.

Summary of Trump's various lies about Ukraine and Zelensky.

Trump says Ukraine started the war that's killing its citizens. What are the facts?

    excerpt:

"THE FACTS: Russia’s army crossed the border on Feb. 24, 2022, in an all-out invasion that Putin sought to justify by falsely saying it was needed to protect Russian-speaking civilians in eastern Ukraine and prevent the country from joining NATO.

But Russia’s aggression against Ukraine didn’t start then. In 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin saw signs that Ukraine was pulling away from Russia’s sphere of influence, seeking alliances with western European nations.

Putin illegally annexed the Crimean Peninsula and started an armed aggression in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donbas that grew into a long-running conflict that left thousands dead."

Trump wants half of Ukraine's mineral resources in return for 'protection' that he will supposedly give him to keep him safe from Putin (who Trump thinks is the victim while Ukraine is supposedly the aggressor).

Zelensky's response was that Ukraine is not for sale.

Denmark told Trump that Greenland isn't for sale.

Panam told Trump the canal isn't for sale.

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/19/europe/zelensky-trump-reaction-intl/index.html

    excerpt:

Earlier this month, he suggested the US should get access to Ukraine’s mineral richest in exchange for aid. Zelensky said on Tuesday that the US has asked Ukraine to “give away” 50% of its rare minerals, without offering any security guarantees in exchange. He said he rejected that idea, saying: “I cannot, I cannot sell our state.”

Murkowski tries to muster opposition to Trump.

Murkowski urges Congress to "stand up" and assert authority if Trump withholds funding - CBS News

    excerpt:

"If the president, for instance, should seek to withhold federal funding that has already been authorized and appropriated, that violates the Budget Act, it violates the Impoundment Act and it cannot be allowed to stand. And so, if we in Congress allow that, we effectively cede some of our authority, and so, your question as to, what do we do about it? We have to stand up," she said in a virtual town hall with constituents.

    excerpt:

"Those activities haven’t been popular, the new polling found. In the Post survey, for example, 58 percent of respondents opposed laying off large numbers of federal workers. And Musk, Trump’s most high-profile adviser, is not getting good marks either: Just 34 percent of respondents in the Post poll approved of Musk’s role in the federal government, while 54 percent of respondents in the CNN poll said it was bad for Trump to have given the SpaceX CEO a prominent role in his administration."

A Trump supporter defends Trump's use of Musk because he says Fauci behaved the same way.

‘He’s taking a sledgehammer to it’: how do Trump voters view his whirlwind start?

    excerpt:

“They’re saying he’s not an elected official and he shouldn’t be doing what he’s doing,” Whatley said. “But, I mean, the Democrats done it too, but it was OK when the Democrats done it.” He likened Musk’s overarching influence over government policy to that of Anthony Fauci’s broad direction of the response to the pandemic.

'We've lost a partner and a friend': Ukrainians somber as U.S. partnership disintegrates

    excerpt:

“It is very sad because we feel we’ve lost a partner and a friend," Ludmilla Ivanova, a 36-year-old math teacher at the facility in the city of Kharkiv, told NBC News Thursday. "We hope that soon President Trump will change his position.”

Ivanova’s comments were echoed by colleagues and parents at this school built underground to withstand Russian attack, as well as many fellow Ukrainians who have watched in horror as Trump reverses American policy of isolating Russia because of its invasion and occupation of Ukrainian territory.

Graham said 'count me out' after Trump's riot at the Capitol. A few weeks after the riot, Graham visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago to be buddies with him again.

Graham initially called Putin a thug in 2022 but now admires Trump for meeting with Putin and scorning Zelensky.

“Count me out,” Graham (R-S.C.) said in an impassioned speech on the Senate floor, adding that he was sad to see his journey with Trump end this way. In an interview two days later, Graham said “he’d never been so humiliated and embarrassed for the country” and spoke in palpable frustration over how his longtime ally handled the riot.
