Trump fires 17 government watchdogs at various federal agencies

    excerpt:

Among those spared from Trump's wrath was Department of Justice inspector general Michael Horowitz, the New York Times reported. Horowitz led the investigation of the FBI's Russian collusion probe, which exposed at least 17 "significant inaccuracies and omissions" in the FBI's application for a FISA warrant in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., slammed Trump's firings, calling them a "purge of independent watchdogs in the middle of the night."

Trump fires 17 government watchdogs at various federal agencies

    excerpt:

"The mass firing is Trump's latest attempt to force the federal bureaucracy into submission after he shut down diversity, equity and inclusion programs, rescinded job offers and sidelined more than 150 national security and foreign policy officials. Trump began his second term with the intent of purging any opponents of his agenda from the government and replacing them with officials who would execute his orders without hesitation."

Trump fires 17 government watchdogs at various federal agencies

    excerpt:

Trump dismissed inspectors general at agencies within the Defense Department, State Department, Energy Department, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Department of Veterans Affairs and more, notifying them by email from the White House Presidential Personnel Office, the Washington Post first reported.

"It’s a widespread massacre," one of the terminated inspectors general told the Post. "Whoever Trump puts in now will be viewed as loyalists, and that undermines the entire system."

What Trump’s executive order on gender means for passports

The fuckface in chief just defined sex as who you were at conception, making literally everyone female under that definition. By his own definition, I'm cis and he's trans.

Stay tuned to see how this ends the war in Ukraine and lowers the cost of eggs.

I hope you trump supporters feel as fucking stupid as you are...

    They don’t and never will.

It’s a cult, plain and simple.

When eggs (Im so fucking tired of the eggs) get more expensive, it will be the democrats that caused it somehow.

I think he just likes listening to himself.
If you really think he’s doing it for you you have been lied to.

Partial list of authors of Project 2025 that Trump has put into high-level positions, the Project 2025 that he said he didn't know about and wouldn't use such people in his administration.

Stephen Miller is back. He's one of the most repulsive Trump associates.

What Trump’s executive order on gender means for passports

    excerpt:

“They can still apply to renew their passport - they just have to use their God-given sex, which was decided at birth,” Leavitt told NOTUS. “Thanks to President Trump, it is now the official policy of the federal government that there are only two sexes - male and female."

Several other countries allow citizens to select a gender-neutral designation on their passports, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India.

Trump 2.0: Confident, organised and still freewheeling

    excerpt:

"Advisors who cautioned the president to move slowly and respect political norms during his first term are long gone. The second Trump administration is stacked with true believers who never turned on him, with the lower ranks being filled by younger aides who do not know a Republican Party without Trump as its leader.

On top of that, his party holds - at least for the next two years - a firm grip on Congress.

During his first day back in office, Trump made his desire to overhaul the status quo in Washington and erase the work of his predecessor abundantly clear by signing a raft of executive orders."

Some retailers were keeping the costs of eggs artificially lower during the 2024 Thanksgiving and Christmas season to avoid losing customers who needed them for making holiday food.

The price after the holidays was expected to go up to make up for the holiday loss.

The year-long 2025 forecast shows the cost of eggs going up 20%.

Eggs are have been about $6.84 to $7.24 per dozen across the country

A 20% increase would make them $8.21 to $8.69 per dozen.

Trump should be planning on how to blame it on Biden.

    Eggs may be expensive forever

    excerpt:

"Typically chickens pick up the bird flu from waterfowl — think ducks and geese. But now they're getting it from a lot of sources. Sick cows can get the chickens sick because of shared equipment. An infected turkey farm up the road can infect a chicken farm as the airborne pathogen spreads in strong winds. Because it's been dealing with the issue for so long, the poultry industry is better prepared for a bird-flu outbreak than, say, the dairy industry, but there's only so much egg farmers can do to prevent it."

He keeps referring to some huge mythical valve in California that if only Newsome had opened, everything would be fine.

Trump has said that he plans to open it himself.

Newsome should cobble something up in the woods somewhere, invite Trump and the press to the ceremony and have Trump open the valve that’s not connected to anything with a big golden wrench.

Then and only after Trump spends a week on TV telling everyone how he saved California, expose the gag.

Loss of habitat to human activity such as wetlands had brought waterfowl and their viruses closer to farms. Changing climate is probably having an effect at spreading pathogens via the air.

Those are issues Trump and MAGA don't like to discuss, particularly viruses that they have belittled or claimed were fake.

It's supposedly the fault of a Democratic politician not turning a big water faucet in a particular direction per Trump's instruction that can supposedly be forced to happen by withholding money to a state or imposing tariffs on a country.

    Eggs may be expensive forever

    excerpt:

"There is no single answer for why this bout of bird flu is so bad. It's partly a development issue and partly a climate-change issue. Some of it is that this strain appears to be more infectious than others, and in many more species. States such as California have lost most of their natural wetlands, meaning waterfowl are using different habitats closer to farms than in the past, which is more conducive to disease transmission. Migration patterns are changing. This all means there's no single solution or way to be sure it won't just keep happening."
