Rubio, Gaetz, Chronister, and Bondi are from Florida.

Gaetz and Chronister have withdrawn from their nominations by Trump.

Did Trump suggest Canada become 51st state and offer Trudeau to become its Governor? Here are details - Times of India

    excerpt:

"Trudeau told Trump he cannot levy the tariff because it would kill the Canadian economy completely. Trump replied – asking, so your country can't survive unless it's ripping off the US to the tune of $100 billion?

Trump then suggested to Trudeau that Canada become the 51st state, which caused the prime minister and others to laugh nervously, sources told Fox News.

He told Trudeau that if he cannot handle his list of demands without ripping the U.S. off in trade, maybe Canada should really become a state or two and Trudeau could become a governor."

Why is Trump even blaming Canada for the trade deficit.

Trump was raving about the NAFTA that he modified (renamed USMCA) during his first term, like it was going to solve all the issues. His border wall was supposed to solve the issues with Mexico.

As Hunter Biden pardon sparks backlash, experts say it can't be overturned

    excerpt:

"These folks have publicly stated that they're on board with using the Justice Department as a mechanism of vengeance and retribution. So the breadth of that pardon suggests that President Biden understands that without that, Hunter Biden could be targeted for a vindictive prosecution," said Wehle, the author of "Pardon Power: How the Pardon System Works -- And Why."

"He faced jail time with these two convictions and Donald Trump will be in charge of the federal Bureau of Prisons, so he would be in charge of Hunter Biden's day-to-day life," Wehle said. "I can understand why a president would not want his son to be put through that moving forward."

Even Trump's campaign manager, Susan Wiles, was disturbed by Trump at a rally just before the 2024 election when he went ballistic.

Trump has selected Wiles to be his White House chief of staff for his second term.

The story of how Trump went from diminished ex-president to a victor once again

    excerpt:

"And on the Sunday before the election, at a rally in Pennsylvania, an exhausted Trump, fully unleashed, abandoned his stump speech altogether to deliver a profane and conspiracy-laden diatribe in which he said he “shouldn’t have left” the White House after his 2020 loss and wouldn’t mind much if reporters were shot.

The performance was so unhinged that Wiles was spotted coming out to stare at Trump as he spoke. "

The U.S. trade deficit with Mexico and Canada increased significantly after Trump's revised NAFTA that went into effect in 2020. His tariffs wars didn't reduce the trade deficit.

Trump is now making more threats to Canada about imposing a 25% tariff.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2024/02/07/donald-trump-trade-deficits-00140101

    excerpts:

"The Commerce Department released new trade figures Wednesday showing the combined U.S. goods trade deficit with Canada and Mexico hit $220 billion in 2023, up from $85 billion in 2017 – the year Trump took office and forced the two countries into a renegotiation of the decades-old North American Free Trade Agreement.

Overall, the United States’ goods trade deficit with the rest of the world was $1.06 trillion in 2023, down from $1.18 trillion in 2022, the Commerce Department report showed. The goods trade deficit was $750 billion in 2016, just before Trump took office.

Trump’s failure to reverse those deficits, despite successfully renegotiating the country’s biggest trade deal and slapping billions of dollars worth of tariffs on a range of other foreign trading partners, only adds to the doubts about his aggressive second-term plans to hike tariffs even further to flip America’s trade balance."

Mitch McConnell blasts federal judges who reversed retirement after Trump won in 2024.

McConnell controlled the Senate and prevented Obama from appointing many federal judges and a Supreme Court justice by refusing to allow the nominations to come to the floor. Yet he's complaining about judges trying to avoid the effects of his unfair behavior.

Trump filled the many judge vacancies and the Supreme Court vacancy. Trump lied about it at his rallies by claiming that Obama decided to leave all those positions vacant.

‘People feel drained’: anti-Trump Americans face temptation to tune out

    excerpt:

Both said too many losses to Trump – whether it be the Russia investigation, two impeachments, the failure of federal prosecutions and a felony conviction that appeared to do little to slow his momentum, if not the reverse – had led to a sense of inevitability.

“It kept happening,” said Marcus. “We’d be thinking, ‘Surely he’s not going to get past this?’ But then you just come to expect he will – and he did.”

Where were they during the 2024 campaign.

Harris and retailers should have done a better job of banding together and telling the public that Trump's pledged expanded tariffs would raise prices (while Trump was doing dumb stunts at McDonald's and driving in a garbage truck).

The situation for Hegseth isn't looking promising either.

Trump's pick for defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, is in peril in the Senate

    excerpt:

"Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he is still open to supporting Hegseth and believes he deserves a fair vetting, but he said Tuesday that Hegseth must explain media reports about his past conduct in a way that would make senators comfortable voting to confirm him."

Graham is worried about cosmetically covering personal issues about Hegseth to make him more presentable to the Senate when he should be stating that Hegseth is utterly unqualified to run the entire military.

Watergate lawyer encourages Biden to pardon everyone on Trump's 'enemies list'.

Watergate lawyer encourages Biden to pardon everyone on Trump's 'enemies list'

    excerpt:

"Trump posted in September, "WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long-term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again."

However, in several other appearances during and after his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump has softened this rhetoric and even extended grace to his most ardent critics."

D'Souza apologized to Andrews on December 1, 2024.

    2000 Mules - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"In October 2022, Atlanta citizen Mark Andrews sued Dinesh D'Souza, True the Vote, Gregg Phillips, Catherine Engelbrecht and Salem Media Group for defamation, conspiracy, and intrusion on seclusion.[62] The film accused him of being a "mule" who illegally harvested ballots as part of a fraud ring. Although the film had blurred his face, the film's trailer and promotional stills used his image.[63] A state investigation found that Andrews was legally dropping off ballots for himself, his wife, and their three adult children, who all lived at the same address.[64] The state exonerated Andrews a few days before the movie's premiere.[65]

On May 31, 2024, Salem Media Group, which helped produce and distribute the D'Souza film and book, released a public apology to Andrews, saying it had relied on representations from D'Souza and True the Vote. Salem also disavowed the book and the film and withdrew them from distribution. In a lawsuit Salem filed against its insurer for not covering costs related to Andrews's lawsuit, Salem revealed it had settled Andrews's suit for a "significant" amount. The apology and disavowal came as part of the settlement.[65][18][7] Andrews dismissed his claims against Salem after the apology[66] but the suit, which names multiple defendants, remained ongoing.[7][67]

On December 1, 2024, D'Souza posted a statement which included "We recently learned that surveillance videos used in the film may not have actually been correlated with the geolocation data [...] Again, I apologize to Mr. Andrews."[68][66] "

    2000 Mules - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"Analysis conducted by the AP found the film was "based on faulty assumptions, anonymous accounts and improper analysis of cellphone location data".[8][10] AP explained that in various swing counties across the five states, True the Vote used phone pings to cellphone towers to identify people who had passed near ballot drop boxes and various unnamed nonprofit organizations multiple times per day, concluding that such people were paid mules for ballot collection and deposits. Experts said such mobile phone tracking was not accurate enough to distinguish alleged mules from many other people who might walk or drive by a ballot box or nonprofit during the course of a day, such as delivery drivers, postal workers and cab drivers. True the Vote asserted it had conducted "pattern of life" filtering of such people before election season; the AP noted limitations of that approach.[8]"

After a lawsuit, D'Souza admits his film 2000 Mules about alleged election fraud was itself a fraud.

MAGA Filmmaker Trump Praised Admits 2020 Election Fraud Doc Was B.S.

    excerpt:

"MAGA filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza issued a statement on Sunday admitting that his most notorious project — the 2020 election conspiracy film 2000 Mules — was produced “on the basis of inaccurate information provided to me and my team.”

The statement includes an apology to Mark Andrews, a Georgia man who sued D’Souza, Salem Media Group, and True the Vote (his partners on the film) for defamation in 2022.

Released in May 2022, 2000 Mules claimed that the 2020 election had been stolen from Donald Trump in part through the use of “mules” who were paid to stuff drop boxes with ballots favoring Joe Biden. The film’s claims hinged on supposed “data” from True the Vote, a Trump-aligned election monitoring group, tracking cellphone data around drop boxes. 2000 Mules provided no concrete evidence related to their claims of ballot harvesting, paid mules, and stash houses for fraudulent ballots, instead relying on sensationalist accusations and conjecture to stir up conservative rage — and a profit."

D'Souza has been a dedicated conspiracy-truther since the Reagan era promoting right-wing causes. He's seen in a photo shaking hands with Reagan.
