Here’s the last time the GOP controlled Senate, House and presidency

    excerpt:

"The last time the Republican Party (GOP) controlled the Senate, House and presidency was from January 20, 2017, to January 3, 2019.

During this period, Trump was president after being inaugurated on January 20, 2017.

In addition, the GOP gained the majority in the House and the Senate following the 2016 elections."

Opinion | I vetted Pete Hegseth for Team Trump in 2016. He wasn't qualified then — and still isn't.

    excerpt:

"Upon a close review of Hegseth’s qualifications, I think he was likely chosen because he seems willing to say and do anything Trump wants, has expressed favorable views on war crimes, and because Trump thinks he looks and sounds good on TV. Unfortunately, these Trump-friendly qualities also position him as perhaps one of the least qualified picks for secretary of defense we’ve seen."

Trump saw Hegseth as a host on Fox.

Trump's 2024 election win has touched off protests in various cities in the U.S., but they haven't been a headline breaking event.

People seem to have become resigned to accepting that Trump has become a more permanent fixture of the the American psyche and political system.

He's no longer a political newcomer, and the initial shock of him has worn off snce 2016.

Major media outlets like the Washington Post, LA Times, and NY Times didn't endorse a presidential candidate in 2024. It gives the impression that they expected Trump would win and didn't want to be on the receiving end of his wrath.

SNL's cold open sketch after Trump 2024 win was a spoof where the actors said that they were really on Trump's side all along. It's reflective of anyone who makes similar remarks in the real world to avoid his wrath.

    Brits to America: You're Idiots!

    excerpt:

"The Mirror wasn’t the only British paper with a striking cover. The Guardian’s “G2” section was fronted by a page of solid black containing just two small words: “Oh, God.” Meanwhile, the Independent ran the headline “Four More Years” along with iconic images from the first Bush term: kneeling prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, tortured prisoners at Abu Ghraib, soldiers fighting in Iraq, oil-drilling machinery, sign-wielding religious extremists, and a smirking Dubya. In France, Libération ran a picture of the president under the headline, “L’Empire empire“—”The empire declines.”"

The world reaction to Trump's reelection in 2024 seems muted compared to that for Bush in 2004.

It's as if people around the globe have become more accustomed to democracies that have devolved into autocracy.

It raises the question as to whether there is any limit to the mindset and behavior of Trump (or other autocrats around the world) that could touch off major protests against him around America and the world, and ones where the people, news media, and the justice system wouldn't be squashed by the autocrat.

Trump's buddy, Putin, has been in power since the year 2000. Another buddy of Trump, Orban, has been in power in Hungary since 2010 and was in power from 1998 to 2002.

As an SNL comedy player said after his reelection, Trump is seemingly invincible. It's like he has a cheat code for a video game that allows him to throw a prostitute out of his car as he drives into the White House.

Jon 'Bones' Jones performs Donald Trump's famous dance, gives title belt to president-elect after TKO victory

    excerpt:

Then, Jones used the crowd's energy to start a "USA! USA!" chant, which they happily joined in for.

"I'm proud to be a great American champion. I'm proud to be a Christian American champion," Jones added.

Following the interview, Jones walked over to where Trump sat ringside with Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, sons Don Jr. and Eric, Kid Rick, Vivek Ramaswamy, singer Jelly Roll and others and handed him his UFC title belt.

That could be a scene on Inauguration Day 2025. Trump driving in the black limo, throwing a prostitute out of the car along the way, entering the White House (without Melania), and literally throwing Biden out.

After calling it poison, RFK, Jr. eats McDonald's meal on plane with Trump.

Trump and RFK, Jr. are saying that they are embarking on 'Make America Healthy Again'.

Trump gives RFK Jr McDonald’s ‘poison’ to eat on private plane

    excerpt:

RFK Jr was highly critical of the modern diet during the election campaign, vowing to “Make America Healthy Again”, and even described Mr Trump’s diet as “really bad”.

“Campaign food is always bad, but the food that goes on to [Trump Force One] is, like, just poison,” the 70-year-old told podcaster Joe Polish on Monday.

“You have a choice between – you don’t have the choice, you’re either given KFC or Big Macs. That’s when you’re lucky, and then the rest of the stuff I consider kind of inedible.”

If only McDonald's would get rid of the seed oil like RFK, Jr. suggested and start using wholesome lard again. America would be healthy again.

And get rid of Diet Coke and start using wholesome sugar again.

In case there's any confusion, Jones gave Trump the championship belt, not the other way around.

KidRock joked that he's the head of the liquor cabinet in Trump's upcoming administration.
