Trump loses bid to have new E. Jean Carroll trial. Federal judge rejects Donald Trump's bid for new E. Jean Carroll defamation trial, upholds $83M judgment
FBI director rejects Trump's vow to investigate political rivals excerpt; "Trump repeatedly publicly criticized Wray before he left office in 2021, and he has blasted the FBI ever since, especially for its role in the 2022 search of his Mar-a-Lago home for classified documents. So it’s widely believed Trump would seek to remove Wray and appoint a new director if he was elected. In response to a question, Wray also broke with Trump over the former president’s characterization of Jan. 6 defendants as “hostages.” “I see the defendants in the Jan. 6 cases as criminal defendants who are being charged with federal crimes, and are in front of independent courts as part of our legal system,” Wray said. “In our country, there are all sorts of people who are upset and angry about all sorts of things, about all sorts of people. But there is a right way under the First Amendment to express how upset you are. And violence — violence against law enforcement, destruction of federal property — is not it.”"
Barr endorsed Trump for president about a week ago, although not explicitly by name. Barr said he would endorse the GOP nominee. Trump is insulting him in late night rant. Trump Throws Absolute Fit In Late Night Rant For The Strangest Possible Reason excerpt: "It’s not often that candidates attack people who endorse them, but that happened on Wednesday night when Donald Trump fired off a rant aimed at Bill Barr. Trump noted that he’s said a lot of mean things about his former attorney general. After the endorsement, however, the former president took back exactly one of those insults. “I called him ‘Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy,‘” Trump wrote in a late night rant on his Truth Social website. “Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word ‘Lethargic’ from my statement.”"
Trump could have helped response to Jan. 6 riot — but didn’t — per new testimony By Kyle Cheney 04/17/2024 11:00 AM EDT https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/17/trump-jan-6-capitol-riot-national-guard-00152757
Actually, Trump did help. He helped the rioters by inciting the riot, not taking any action to stop it for hours when he knew it was happening, and coddling his rioters at the end, as if they were victims.

Twisted, dog-chase-tail legal statements like that have been presented in court or other proceedings in the past. During Trump's Senate trial for his first impeachment, Dershowitz said that Trump was promoting the national interest by withholding U.S. aid to Ukraine to coerce the president of Ukraine to conduct a smear campaign on Biden to help Trump be reelected because reelecting Trump was in the national interest. Supposedly, an abuse-of-power crime is not a crime because the crime is supposedly promoting the national interest.
Even worse, all of that desperate attempt at trying to justify a crime would be moot anyway if Trump had absolute immunity. There wouldn't even be a legal basis for impeaching him in the first place or trying to bring him to justice after he was out of office.
Trump wants the immunity that would preclude his plan to retaliate against Biden. Trump Wants to Prosecute Biden. He Also Thinks Presidents Deserve Immunity. excerpt: "Paradoxically, should the Supreme Court decide that presidents do enjoy some degree of immunity for their official actions while in office, the ruling would deprive Trump of one of the major themes that he and his allies have promoted throughout the current campaign: that Biden needs to be held to account by the criminal justice system, despite the lack of compelling evidence that he has violated any laws."
Like Graham and Barr, McConnell says he'll vote for Trump. Trump led a ‘violent insurrection’ but I’ll still vote for him, says McConnell
A confused Trump thinks an import tariff is money coming from another country into the hands of the U.S. He has continually lied to the public that the U.S. is collecting money from China and other countries because of his import tariffs when in fact the U.S. consumer ultimately pays this money with higher prices.
Kristi Noem goes hunting with her dog that hunts her by biting her hand, and then she hunts the dog by shooting and killing it for hunting her. Seems like she's auditioning to be Trump's VP. The twisted situation sounds similar to giving a president absolute immunity from destroying democracy out of a fear that, without immunity, he might destroy democracy, which he'll be free to do anyway once he has immunity.
Other Trump VP hopefuls may go out and shoot their dogs too to audition for Trump. https://iowacapitaldispatch.com/2024/04/30/puppy-killing-kristi-noem-may-have-brought-us-together/ excerpt: "Noem must have calculated that the memoir, particularly that incident, would add to her contrived narrative as a leader willing to make tough calls and boost her chances of being picked as the GOP VP candidate. In response, other Veepstakers, even Ron DeSantis, have posted pictures of themselves with their dogs this week."
DeSantis sounds like the type who would shoot his dog if he thought it was engaging in homo behavior.

The only Ukrainian-born member of Congress voted against U.S. aid to Ukraine, citing the U.S. border as a bigger concern. This congresswoman was born and raised in Ukraine. She just voted against aid for her homeland
That will score her some points with Trump. Perhaps she should shoot her dog too like Kristi Noem did.
