Americans have shown a pattern of perceiving a past president more favorably years after his term ended. Most presidents don't run again after losing an election after serving one term. Trump's situtaion is distinct in that he's been out of office for over three years but running again. The public's view of of his term has had a chance to improve since he left office and could increase the chances of him being reelected in 2024.
