Their situation is unique in that it isn't always clear whether they should vote on the college campus or at their home district, which may be a long distance from college. Some students have been mistakenly told by election workers that they have to go home to vote, only to find that they should have voted on the campus where they are living, causing them to make long, useless trips home and back again to the campus.

She insinuates that students sleep all day on the campus. Mitchell should understand that students at a private college in the U.S. on average are paying about $40,000 per year for tuition, not including the costs of living on campus.
