    Rioter at Capitol pleads guilty.

One of five Texas family members charged in US Capitol riot pleads guilty

    excerpt:

"A Texas man pleaded guilty on Thursday in federal court to climbing through a broken window and walking around the US Capitol with his parents and sisters on January 6, 2021.

Josh Munn, 24, pleaded guilty to illegally protesting inside the Capitol. He could face up to six months in prison when he is sentenced in August, according to the plea agreement read aloud in court, and will pay $500 for damage done to the building.

During the hearing on Thursday, Munn admitted that he entered the Capitol with his parents, Tom and Dawn, and three of his sisters. The parents and two sisters, Kristi and Kayli, are also facing charges. They have all pleaded not guilty.

Josh Munn is one of many Capitol riot defendants charged with family members, though the Munn family is the largest group of relatives to be charged together to date.

Munn said that at first, he was hesitant to go to the January 6 rally because he was saving his money for a move to Wisconsin. But when his parents offered to pay for the trip, Munn said that he would be "happy to go."

After the riot, Munn family members boasted of their participation on social media."

Revolt Brews in Michigan G.O.P. After Elevation of Trump Allies

    excerpt:

"For Republican supporters of Donald J. Trump in Michigan, it seemed like a crowning moment: The state party chose two candidates endorsed by the former president, both outspoken preachers of 2020 election falsehoods, as its contenders for the state’s top law enforcement officer and its chief of election administration.

But instead, that move at a convention last weekend — where Republicans officially endorsed Matthew DePerno for attorney general and Kristina Karamo for secretary of state — have ruptured the Michigan Republican Party. After months of strain, it appears to finally be snapping as what remains of the old guard protests the party’s direction.

This week, Tony Daunt, a powerful figure in Michigan politics with close ties to the influential donor network of the DeVos family, resigned from the G.O.P.’s state committee in a blistering letter, calling Mr. Trump “a deranged narcissist.” Major donors to the state party indicated that they would direct their money elsewhere. And one of Mr. Trump’s most loyal defenders in the State Legislature was kicked out of the House Republican caucus.

The repudiation of the election-denying wing of the party by other Republicans in Michigan represents rare public pushback from conservatives against Mr. Trump’s attempts to force candidates across the country to support his claims of a rigged 2020 vote. That stance has become a litmus test for G.O.P. politicians up and down the ballot as Mr. Trump adds to his slate of more than 150 endorsements this election cycle."

Here are the Senate aides, who had the presence of mind and courage to protect, keep safe, and transport the electoral votes before fleeing the Senate, which was under siege by domestic terrorists. There will always be villains. There will always be heroes.”

    Trump.

They will concoct truth narratives that his death was faked and that he is still alive and being held against his will by Democrat pedophiles.

Such a narrative has a expiration date of 2146, the year when Trump would have turned 200.

Trump's White House physician, Ronny Jackson, said Trump could live to be 200 if he curtailed some of the fast food.

Jackson withdrew his nomination to lead the Veterans Administration, a post for which he had little experience.

In 2020 he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Texas.

Trump's rioter said he was defending himself against the police.

DC Officer Describes Fending Off Capitol Rioter at Man’s Trial – NBC4 Washington

    excerpt:

"The videos show Webster shoving a bike rack at Rathbun before swinging the flag pole at the officer in a downward chopping motion, striking a metal barricade in front of the officer. After Rathbun grabbed the broken pole and retreated, Webster charged at the officer and tackled him to the ground.

Rathbun said he started choking and couldn’t breathe when Webster grabbed his gas mask and the chin strap pressed against the officer’s neck.

“That’s not a position that anyone wants to be in,” Rathbun said.

Webster's lawyer told jurors during the trial's opening statements on Tuesday that Rathbun “started this whole thing” by punching Webster. Monroe asserts that a video shows Webster making a motion with his arm to goad Webster into fighting.

“That was a motion to back up,” Rathbun said during the defense lawyer's cross-examination. “That wasn't a motion to move forward.”

Rathbun's body camera captured Webster shouting profanities and insults at the officer before they made any physical contact. Rathbun said it would never be permissible for him to hit somebody in response to verbal abuse."

Trump is the type of person who can take what has been a stately and proud event at the Capitol like this:

    and turn it into this:

Why Trump's candidate in Ohio is doing so much better than his pick in Georgia

    excerpt:

"But in Ohio, Trump’s entry into a fierce contest for the U.S. Senate seat there has had a big impact. Trump endorsed J.D. Vance less than two weeks ago, and the author and venture capitalist has vaulted into the lead in the most recent Fox News poll, which was released Tuesday.

Ohio Republicans who know the state well told Yahoo News that Vance’s surge is real and that it’s all about Trump. The former president’s endorsement “turbocharged” Vance’s campaign, Mike Hartley, a veteran Republican consultant in Ohio politics, said."

Why Trump's candidate in Ohio is doing so much better than his pick in Georgia

    excerpt:

"Senate races are more nationalized, since their outcome affects the balance of power in Congress. And in Ohio, it’s a Senate race with no incumbent and a wide-open race among several viable candidates, meaning the winner needs to only get by with a plurality of the vote. So Trump’s national brand has landed with more weight because the field has been so scrambled.

Ohio has also moved to the right because of a decline in Democratic organizing, one expert said. The state voted twice for Barack Obama and still has a Democratic senator in Sherrod Brown, an old-school populist who was easily reelected in 2018. But otherwise Ohio Democrats are hurting, said Joseph Valenzano, a professor at the University of Dayton who teaches political communication.

“[Democrats have] forgotten about Ohio, so what you’re seeing is a moderately right-leaning state that appears to be trending more heavily conservative only because the other side lost sight of staying engaged here,” Valenzano told Yahoo News."

The Vance campaign was recently injected with $3.5 million after Trump's endorsement.

J.D. Vance Won Trump’s Blessing, Now He’s Cashing In

    excerpt:

"When former President Donald Trump reluctantly tossed a lifeline last week to venture capitalist J.D. Vance’s struggling Senate campaign, he may have shaken up an already unstable primary field.

Now, one week later, that endorsement has already paid dividends.

In a Friday filing with the Federal Election Commission, J.D. Vance for Senate reported receiving more money this week than it had directly raised in the first three months of the year combined. The report comes on the heels of a $3.5 million super PAC injection from Vance’s billionaire backer Peter Thiel earlier this week."

    DOJ is suing Manafort

    Trump pardoned Manafort.

DOJ suing Paul Manafort for $3M for allegedly failing to disclose offshore accounts

    excerpt:

"The Justice Department filed a civil lawsuit on Thursday against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

It is seeking $3 million in fines and penalties over Manafort's alleged failure to file reports disclosing more than 20 offshore bank accounts he controlled in Cyprus, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the U.K. between 2006 and 2014.

"Today’s civil lawsuit seeks a money judgment against Mr. Manafort for simply failing to file a tax form," Manafort’s attorney Jeffrey Neiman said in a statement to ABC News. "Mr. Manafort was aware the Government was going to file the suit because he has tried for months to resolve this civil matter. Nonetheless, the Government insisted on filing this suit simply to embarrass Mr. Manafort."

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Florida, notes that the Treasury Department previously sent him a notice of its assessment of the penalties in July of 2020.

Manafort was pardoned by former President Donald Trump five months later in December of 2020 for his tax fraud, conspiracy and obstruction convictions stemming from former special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election."

Republicans Cheer As Congressional Candidate Demands Fauci’s Execution By Firing Squad

    excerpt:

Fauci, as a highly visible U.S. health official, has spoken about the barrage of conservative criticism, vitriol and violent threats he’s received for his public health advice during the pandemic.

He called for the firing of Fox News’ Jesse Watters after the TV host in December urged young conservatives to “ambush” him and “go for the kill shot” with questions.

“The only thing that I have ever done throughout these two years is to encourage people to practice good public health practices: to get vaccinated, to be careful in public settings, to wear a mask,” Fauci said at the time.
