I think Gym Jordan’s coverup of the sexual assaults should be reinvestigated. Maybe he was one of the molesters.

    That's t
That's the problem here. The court has turned into a political tool. We Democrats need to assert our power and make sure it works for us too. Last week Justice Roberts pointed out something very important. He said if the Trump appointees change things, the states would be able to overturn Supreme Court Rulings. That would create serious problems in this country. It would spiral out of control and leave us with conditions ripe for another civil war. We cannot have Texas and Florida repeal the Civil Rights Act to prevent Negros from Voting. In commerce we need standardized laws so trucks can pick up freight in New York and deliver it to California without having some Boss Hog type of cop issuing tickets so he could enrich himself. Trump & pals have really tossed a monkey wrench into the machine.

Trump supporter who threatened Warnock is sentenced to 33 month in prison.

Warnock won the special election for U.S. Senator in Georgia in 2021. Trump likely helped achieve his win by making GOP voters believe the election system was rigged.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/york-man-threatened-kill-sen-015703340.htm

    excerpt:

"A New York man who posted threats to kill Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) and commit other acts of violence was sentenced Thursday to nearly three years in prison, according to the Justice Department.

Why it matters: Lawmakers have faced a surge in threats in recent years. U.S. Capitol Police reported 4,135 threats against members of Congress in the first three months of 2021 alone.

Details: Eduard Florea posted statements about traveling to Washington D.C. to "unleash some violence" on Jan. 6 in connection with attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, prosecutors say."

Trump and his supporters with their self-defeating behavior helped Warnock win a U.S. Senate seat in the special election, but later they were frustrated that Warnock won.

Trump brought up the issue about the special elections in Georgia during his phone call to Raffensperger.

Trump told Raffensperger on January 2nd that he wanted him to overturn the Georgia presidential election before the January 5th special election, which was just three days after his phone call, so that GOP voters in Georgia would be more confident.

The now-convicted Florea threatened Warnock. Trump tried to coerce Raffensperger to reduce the chance of Warnock winning.

Sen. Kelly Loeffler, who lost the special election to Warnock, was going to object to the electoral college results of the 2020 presidential election on behalf of Trump but later changed her mind after she experienced Trump's riot at the Capitol.

    Trump creates a mess everywhere.

Trump's behavior is reminiscent of Nixon who was involved in the Watergate burglary and later tried to cover it by funneling hush money.

People like Trump and Nixon put themselves in an increasingly deeper ditch by making more problems when trying to solve avoidable problems that they foolishly created.

I think McConnell figures he already has a stupid amount of wealth, he's 106 years old, his face looks like a scrotum, what has he got to lose by doing almost the right thing?

Nevada county where Trump won to replace voting machines | AP News

    excerpt:

"Republican Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske has said the results in Nevada — where President Joe Biden won by 33,596 votes — were accurate and reliable.

In Nevada, electronic voting machines are certified by the federal government and required to run on closed systems to prevent hacking and cyberattacks. Touch screen voting machines are required to print a paper audit, which is then scanned and counted by another machine.

Lander County commissioners scuttled their hand-count proposal. Officials also chose Molly Gonzalez, a county employee, to succeed Sullivan, who is among a growing list of local election officials who have announced plans to leave their posts."

AG Paxton of TX has spent millions look for widespread voter fraud cases that Trump has alleged and has produced very little.

$2 million spent investigating Texas election fraud with little result - Dallas Voice

    excerpt:

"Rep. Michelle Beckley, D-Carrollton, issued a statement about the first meeting of the House Committee on Elections, which is looking into election fraud. After spending more than $2 million, Attorney General Ken Paxton has come up with little evidence of election fraud since 2015 with no cases pending from the 2020 election.

After hearing testimony, Beckley requested follow up data and information regarding the total number of convictions related to voter fraud cases dating back to 2015, as well as the complete list of active investigations and prosecutions. Her staff received the information, but not through the attorney general’s office. Instead, the only way her office was able to obtain the information was through a freedom of information request filed by the ACLY.

“According to these records, the total number of convictions related to election fraud offenses since 2015 totals twenty-nine, excluding deferred adjudication or diversion programs,” Beckley wrote in a press release. “The total number of individuals included with deferred adjudication or diversion is 74. Furthermore, there have been zero convicted cases of election fraud relating to the 2020 election and zero cases called to trial. The total annual budget authorized for the Election Fraud Section is $2,019,575.”"

Why keep it secret. Paxton should be proud of spending $2 million to find a handful of voter fraud cases.
