Trump continues to promote ballot misinformation after Biden victory – US election live

    excerpt:

"Murphy is “refusing to sign a letter allowing Biden’s transition team to formally begin its work this week”, the Post reported, noting that her job includes signing “paperwork officially turning over millions of dollars, as well as giving access to government officials, office space and equipment authorized for the taxpayer-funded transition teams of the winner”.

This is a rarely-discussed duty, typically executed without incident in the period after a new president is elected. It’s a formal letter from the federal government acknowledging the winner of the race, separate from the media calls. But the Post found that almost 36 hours after the projection of a Biden win, Murphy had not written the letter, and that the “the Trump administration, in keeping with the president’s failure to concede the election, has no immediate plans to sign one”.

That refusal would lead to the first delay in modern history of a transition process, other than the supreme court dispute in 2000 surrounding the Florida recount, the paper said. A Biden spokesperson told the Post in a statement:"

The U.S. is taking on the appearance of a third world country.

    From the New York Times:

"Susan Glasser, The New Yorker: “There have been many times, over the past four years, that covering Trump’s Washington felt like a foreign assignment to me, never more so than while driving around the capital these past few days and seeing boarded-up storefronts and streets cordoned off for blocks around the White House, in anticipation of unprecedented post-election violence. I have seen such scenes before, in places like Azerbaijan and Russia. This is Trump’s America. It is not the America I have known.”

Steve Vladeck, University of Texas law professor: “For anyone complaining about the ‘late’ shift in totals toward Democrats in MI, PA, and WI, most of those votes actually came in *first.*” But Republican-controlled state legislatures refused to allow the counting of mail ballots as they arrived."

CNN interviewed the Wisconsin Secretary of State and he said they take their job seriously and are very meticulous.

Any recount wouldn’t change the number by more than a few hundred votes, Biden has a 20,000 vote margin

Trump is bringing out the big guns.

Donald Trump 'is planning mass rallies where he will brandish the obituaries of dead people he claims voted' as his legal team prepare for 'man-to-man combat'

Donald Trump 'planning mass rallies where he will brandish the obituaries of people he claims voted' | Daily Mail Online

    excerpt:

"In Georgia, Arizona and Pennsylvania the Trump team is planning fresh legal challenges - many of those raised so far have already been dismissed.

More than 90 campaign staff have been redeployed from Florida to Georgia, where former congressman Doug Collins will be leading the campaign's recount efforts.

In Arizona, Kory Langhofer, who was the counsel for Trump's 2016 transition, will serve as lead attorney, Axios said.

And in Pennsylvania, Ronald Hicks, a partner in the Pittsburgh office of the Porter Wright law firm and co-chair of the firm's election law practice, will lead the Trump campaign's legal charge.

On Sunday night Philadelphia City Commissioner Al Schmidt, a Republican, told 60 Minutes that his office, which runs the vote count, has received death threats as a result of the Trump campaign's accusation of vote rigging.

'From the insight looking out, it feels all very deranged,' he said.

'At the end of the day we are counting eligible votes, cast by voters. The controversy surrounding it is something I don't understand.

'It's people making accusations that we wouldn't count those votes, or people are adding fraudulent votes, or - just, coming up with all sorts of crazy stuff.'"

In Trump's perception, that's 20,000 illegal votes that went to Biden.

Giuliani's assertion is that mass fraudulent activity occurred in favor of Biden because, in his mind, the Republicans were illegally not permitted sufficient oversight of the ballot tallying process.

Giuliani hasn't offered any substantive evidence for either of those claims.

Biden's popular vote lead over Trump has increased to 4.38 million (2.93%).

In Trumpworld, that's 4.38 million illegal votes for Biden that Giuliani will find.

    Latest conspiracy theory;

Donald Trump refuses to concede the election, some of his most loyal allies have become obsessed with a bizarre new conspiracy theory about the race, insisting that Trump only lost the election because a deep-state supercomputer named “Hammer” and a computer program named “Scorecard” were used to change the ballot count.

The head of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has called the claim about supercomputer election fraud “nonsense,” and urged Americans not to promote it.

But the mythical supercomputer claim has been embraced by prominent Trump backers, including former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik, former Trump 2016 campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, right-wing pundit John Cardillo, and Newsmax White House correspondent Emerald Robinson.

'Trump can still win': The President's supporters remain defiant after Biden's victory - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"I don't know that it was wise for news organizations to call the race," said Stellabotte, who was doing her weekend grocery shopping at a Shop 'n Save market in town. She also said she's already read about the Trump campaign planning to pursue legal challenges to the vote counts and welcomed these lawsuits if there is evidence to show.

"I think this will get to the Supreme Court," she said. "I'm not sure how or what state or what avenue, but Trump has very high-powered lawyers, some of the top people in the country, so they will find a way I'm sure."

    Trump plans to resume rallies.

Trump plans to revive campaign-style rallies as he pursues legal challenges to election results

    excerpt:

"Moments after the AP called the race for Biden, Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani stood in front of campaign banner taped over the garage door of a landscaping company in Philadelphia, wedged near a cremation center and an adult book store called “Fantasy Island,” with a handful of poll watchers and declared they'd been kept too far away to check for any inaccuracies. Something fishy was going on, he said.

“We have no way of knowing, because we’ve been deprived of the right to inspect ballots,” he said."

Trump plans to revive campaign-style rallies as he pursues legal challenges to election results

    excerpt:

"Trump campaign officials have also alleged that more than 21,000 had been cast in the name of the dead in Pennsylvania. The claims stem from a conservative legal group's lawsuit against the Secretary of State, accusing her of wrongly including some 21,000 supposedly dead residents on voter rolls."

If Giuiani is the "high powered lawyer", Trump's in "big tubble". The best they've been able to come up with so far is a lady whose mother just died after completing her mail in ballot, and her daughter mailed it in to honor her mother's wishes. Mom was a Trump supporter!

The location of Giuliani's press conference , scheduled at the "Four Seasons" but ending up not at the famous hotel but at a garden center by that name on the outskirts of Philly (between a sex shop and a crematorium) generated a certain amount of social media humor.

For Giuliani’s next act he will claim that he doesn’t have a lifetime membership at the Fantasy Island adult book store.
