Trump's name will be added to stimulus checks By Jim Acosta and Caroline Kelly, CNN Updated 11:03 PM ET, Tue April 14, 2020 Trump's name will be added to stimulus checks - CNNPolitics excerpt: "President Donald Trump's name will appear on checks sent to millions of Americans to combat the economic effects of the coronavirus in a last-minute Treasury Department order, a senior administration official confirmed to CNN on Tuesday. The decision to add Trump's name will not result in a delay for Americans receiving those checks, the senior administration official said. The Washington Post was first to report on the news Tuesday. Two senior officials told the Post that the decision would probably set back the delivery date on the first set of paper checks -- potentially slowing a process that could already take up to 20 weeks. But the Treasury Department denied the claim, with a department spokesperson assuring the Post that the first batch of checks was still slated to go out next week."
You remind me of the stoners I went to high school with. I think they are still in continuation school.
Here Come the Death Panels Obamacare didn’t lead to rationing. The mismanagement of the coronavirus will. By Michelle Goldberg Opinion Columnist March 23, 2020 Opinion | Here Come the Death Panels excerpts: "After months of inaction and misinformation from an administration that disdains expertise, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases appears to be growing at a faster rate in the United States than in any other country with a major outbreak, and we are not ready. America has fewer hospital beds per capita than most developed countries, and more chronic health problems like diabetes that may put infected people at a higher risk for complications. Donald Trump has been waging war on the A.C.A. since he came into office, and the number of uninsured Americans has, by one measure, grown by 1.3 million since he took office. “To contain the virus, people will need to call health care providers as soon as they develop any flulike symptoms,” said an article in Stat, a health news website. “But will they do so if it means losing money?”" "When people without access to doctors, paid medical leave or decent housing get sick and are unable to quarantine themselves, coronavirus spreads more quickly to everyone. Those trapped in prisons or crowded into homeless shelters can’t practice the social distancing necessary to contain the pandemic. “The infection can propagate through people we didn’t want to care for as a society,” Gonsalves said. Elites in this country have long tolerated a dysfunctional health care system because, while it delivers relatively poor results for many people, it provides good care for those at the top. A study published last year in The Journal of the American Medical Association compared life expectancy in the United States and Norway. “Life expectancy was higher in Norway than in the United States in all income percentiles, except for the highest income percentiles, in which life expectancies were similar in the two countries,” it found. For a lucky few, everything ugly and unfair about American health care might, in the past, have seemed like someone else’s problem."
Exclusive: U.S. slashed CDC staff inside China prior to coronavirus outbreak Marisa Taylor March 25, 2020 / 6:26 PM Exclusive: U.S. slashed CDC staff inside China prior to coronavirus outbreak excerpt: "The material reviewed by Reuters shows a breakdown of how many American and local Chinese employees were assigned there. The documents are the CDC’s own descriptions of its headcount, which it posts online. Reuters was able to search past copies of the material to confirm the decline described by the four people. “The CDC office in Beijing is a shell of its former self,” said one of the people, a U.S. official who worked in China at the time of the drawdown."
The article is so inundated with weasel wording it took me a while to figure out how you came to that conclusion. This part was interesting: "When people without access to doctors, paid medical leave or decent housing get sick and are unable to quarantine themselves, coronavirus spreads more quickly to everyone. Those trapped in prisons or crowded into homeless shelters can’t practice the social distancing necessary to contain the pandemic. “The infection can propagate through people we didn’t want to care for as a society,” While it seems reasonable, it has a serious flaw in thinking that homeless folks and inmates are going to be a driver for societal infection. Most of society is already avoiding both groups and have been for centuries. Cities may seem to make contact more likely, but that's just not the case. San Francisco attempted to solve the problem by simply allowing the homeless to setup and shit wherever they want. That way everybody gets to experience their plight with them, no matter how hard they have worked to avoid them. All that has done is created new ways to avoid them. Even Apps to track their piles of shit. And not because people want to be closer to the shit.
I'm certainly not a clairvoyant, but who couldn't see shit like this coming?? He can't hold his campaign rallies, so he's making it look like he's the one and only person giving out money to people in desperate need because of this virus. George W. Bush tried a similar stunt when, at the time, rebate checks were being sent out in his first term - but the Treasury Commissioner at that time refused to put Bush's name on the checks because the Treasury had always been non-partisan. The Commissioner didn't want to have the treasury become politicized and weaponized. This is all recorded historical FACT. This Treasury Commissioner doesn't have the spine / balls to refuse Trump's wishes. As for the timeline-oriented statements (posted previously in the last page here) made by this farce of a president, they're all on video/audio tape for all to see and hear. Dates, times, places, statements. But some LEMMINGS refuse to believe the factual evidence. These people are either stupid beyond human words - or they're trolls. If you're that damn gullible - I have some only slightly damp real estate to sell you. And the sky isn't really blue when you look at it …………………. that's just a liberal plot to make you think it isn't really green - which it is. This is the mentality that follows Trump like the LEMMINGS they are.
Trump would need to repurpose the current U.S. contribution to WHO funding or try to use a rescission which involves approval of Congress. He did a rescission of the U.S. money to the U.N. in 2017. Trump move to end WHO funding amid coronavirus fight criticized by world leaders "Now is a time for unity," the chief of the U.N. said, "not a time to cut the resources of the World Health Organization." April 15, 2020, 10:41 AM UTC / Updated April 15, 2020, 12:54 PM UTC By Alexander Smith 'Not the time': Trump faces global criticism over move to end WHO funding excerpt: "President Donald Trump's move to halt funding to the World Health Organization has been met with severe criticism at home and abroad, with the United Nations secretary-general saying "now is not the time" for such a drastic move while the coronavirus pandemic is gripping the globe. Trump made the announcement Tuesday pending a review of the WHO's response to the initial coronavirus outbreak in China. He claims the agency has been too close to Beijing and covered up for its mistakes. Congressional Democrats are disputing the president's authority to do this. Meanwhile Republican lawmakers are planning their own investigation, examining the early response by the WHO and the Chinese government."
Trump apparently hasn't learned his lesson about withholding money. He tried to withhold congressionally appropriated money to Ukraine for personal gain and he caused his impeachment.
Egger ^^^^^^^ Trump is good at withholding money. He didn't pay some of the contractors who built his hotels and casinos, and he hired many immigrants - some illegal ones too - to work in his businesses. How do you think he got rich - by playing and paying fair??? We can all see what a shit-stain he really is. He paints his own ugly portrait.
Hephatrump is getting very forgetful in his dotage, as recently as January this year he was reported as praising the Chinese for their swift efforts to clamp down on the virus. His latest outburst proves beyond doubt what a liar and hypocrite he is. Report from the Press association: The WHO generally takes care not to criticise countries on their national policies, and it was not immediately clear what specific criticism the president was alluding to. Mr Trump himself showed deference to China at the beginning stages of the outbreak. "China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus," he tweeted on January 24. "The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!"
