I am thinking the same, again for me it's natural beauty I appreciate over made up faces. Where some can't pull it off well I understand tho. My friend a few years back did the major make up thing, I always thought she was beautiful but when she went out with me one day in a rush to get to some place we needed to go without any makeup I saw a whole different Her. And yes I commented. She was covering what she was given. The lack of the black eyes at the end of her day was a plus for her and yet she worked so hard at it every day. Now after not seeing her since I moved away a few years ago I have to wonder how much crap she painted into her eyelids that is causing her troubles now if she didnt quit.
Here is another spooky thing. My mom did all the makeup and hair stuff for years, then she quit the make up. She is losing her hair fast like, going bald by ten hairs a swipe with her hair brush. After all them years of perming and dying it her dermatologist and other specialists are saying it's the follicles giving up because the cells are like 10 to 20 years older then they should be due to all of the chemicals. It's not known in our family for women to go bald and it's freaking her out badly. She feels she is not old enough to have this happen and they all agree. They have checked her thyroid, and other things that could be a cause, tried many meds and products, nothing stopping it, even natural stuff we have tried. Her very thick head of hair has been thinning for a few years but has sped up on her now. She wears a cap now and is looking into wigs. All that for what? So she could be a red head and now bald to go through her retirement years. She had beautiful med brown hair which I only ever saw a few times or by roots most of my growing up years, that shit stunk so I wouldn't let her take me to get anything more then a cut and even then I hated the smells in the salons.
Can that stuff be any good for us? I have a small mall of about 15 stores a block away from my house and to walk the hallway inside you have to smell it wofting all the time from that one hair dressers place, I feel like causing a fuss to make them shut their hall way entry doors and vent it out since they do have sidewalk access too. Instead I walk outside all the time since our weather is never too bad, if we had miserable cold winters I would complain.

I appreciate the no shave movement :). I'll admit that I am not brave enough to try it, but I have a lot of respect for it. Shaving is dangerous and silly if you think about it.

Also I think some of the men here don't understand. The way women are marketed to from the time they are children has a huge affect on how we perceive ourselves, our understanding of what we're allowed to be in order to fit in with and get anywhere within society, and to be accepted by our community, our peers, in workplaces and by romantic (or sexual) partners.

Men get similar forms of marketing, but women are the target audience for so many more "products" than men...also you men don't seem to care about standing up for yourselves or your future male offspring. You like to pretend nothing effects you. (Yes, I'm generalizing)

It's definitely important to show people that there are other ways to be. I remember how difficult it was for me to find women who were outside of the "norm" at the time that I became sick of all the grooming and make-up products. I didn't even know what kind of life I would have if I stopped straightening my hair, wearing bras, wearing make-up...I thought I might become a complete outcast and have to be a hermit for the rest of my life.

Also all of the women were not models, in the sense that they go about their lives posing for pictures exclusively and will do anything a photographer asks, in order to present a certain image. Art models are often portrayed just as they are, they don't have to get made up, shave or anything in any sort of way. I've done it myself and if someone looked at me and said "oh she's a model" as a way of dismissing my look, they'd be ignorant.

We can also consider Shale, who shared that he had been a model. I'm certain that he would not have been a model if he didn't agree with what he was modeling for.

In other words, the women who modeled in the pictures aren't against body hair and not shaving. If they were truly against it, or didn't "believe" in it, they'd most likely turn down the "modeling job". Just like the woman who thinks body hair is "gross". She didn't believe in it so she was unable to do the job.

Page 2 is mostly exchanges between TheGhost and myself. None of it had anything to do with your signature (picture of a cat).

Does that mean you didn't like the mention of women shaving their twat baby smooth? I could've said pussy. I could've said va-jay-jay.

In any case, none of that was about your signature, your cat, or even YOUR vagina / twat / pussy / box.

So, do I understand .. at all? Maybe I don't. But those are my thoughts in response to going down on your signature.

well my perspective is that personal tastes in self grooming are really not the first thing nor most interesting that would come to mind in the context of the topic label. that's for sure.
