our grass lasted a little longer this year. i have to get out there and knock back the weeds, especially those fucking canada thistles. im going to need roundup. and then eventually i think we will use walkable groundcovers in most of the yard, and just have a small area of lawn, which will be stripped out and resodded with something that can handle the heat. i will plant some areas to "meadow" for the bees though. those parts wont need to be mowed. should reduce workload by a lot. right now its pretty hard to use the yard for anything. hubby and i went out and sat in the coolness for awhile last night, but then theres the bugs, and the smell of something that died out there. mouse? rabbit? bird? squirrel? natural causes? predator? who the fuck knows, but its stinky, and im not feeling like looking for it in this 100 degree heat.

oh, had potatoes go bad and ooze all over the thing they were stored in. so now i get to try and figure out what to do with that. glad it was a garage sale find, i only spent 5 bucks on it, but disappointed because i really liked it and i dont know if i can clean it well enough to repurpose it.

so when the power came back on i was upstairs and did the work on the computer i was doing.
wasnt thinking about the tv but when it goes out it does a satellite scan and reboots, it takes a while.
so out of nowhere i hear what sounds like people in the house downstairs, i grab my samurai sword and go downstairs.
i get down there and the only sounds i hear are golf on tv and the guy next door mowing the lawn.
go back upstairs and hear a loud sound like something falling and people talking, my heart nearly stops but then i remember it was the same sound as before (when nothing was down their) just louder.

as i sat on the PC i can hear the tv down there and put together that it was the tv i was hearing, i dont know what kind of mic setup they got but it sounds exactly like the ball is being hit in my house, and to top it off the crowd cheering sounds just like one or two people yelling. so right after i thought something fell i hear what sounds like two men yelling.

ahhh good times. nothing gets the heart pumping like a good scare.

We each have a samurai sword under each side of the bed. They're only cheap eBay jobs, but I wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of one. It might not cut your limbs off....but it's bound to hurt, if you do get clipped.

I my parents haunted house while they huge surges of poltergeist activity, thankfully I wasn't living at home with... my folks would wake up at like 1-2am every night with the TV on black and white ants, the volume set at 100. Just blaring away. They don't know how or why it was happening. TV would get looked at. Nothing wrong. Take it home, 2am........PACCHCHHZHZJCJCHAPPPHHCHCHAPLCHCHCHCHHHHHHHHHJSSSSHHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHHHHH.

After dragging the hose around this whole summer I wish I did have a sprinkler system, other than myself! :)

They have had a storm warning here all day and it is sunny, hot and miserable instead of getting even a spit drop of rain.

Funny I was just eating and it is so hot that I can't finish my leftover pizza. Ate enough that I'm not hungry anymore though.

I don't even reheat left over pizza anymore. I used to always microwave it then one day someone said why don't you try cold pizza. Why don't I? Because they're meant to be eaten while they're hot, you idiot... but they were on point. Cold pizza is awesome and I'll even make pizza specifically to put in the oven to eat cold lol. Green olives, pineapple and pepperoni is my cold pizza fix.

I also make meals specifically for the next day too like anything I use mince with, whether it's mince mixed in with rice or potato or a pasta bake, it's gotta be left sitting overnight to soak it all in. :)

I discovered this with my daddy when he'd make cheap mince meals while we were away and I always said to him that leftovers taste better. So he started making those meals a day in advance for me. I also remember he'd hide olives in food for me to find. I really liked green olives when I was a kid. I like them now too. They're a bit sour. >.<

Never did understand where the idea comes from where everybody thinks samurai swords are "cool" or awesome or whatever... A broadsword or viking sword is a far superior blade.

Maybe as people are more familiar with them because they are depicted more often in films and such.
