1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

You could also subscribe to the forums and get an upgrade to Supporter or Lifetime Supporter here

In my opinion.. anything that makes you think, and question yourself (even if you end up with the same judgement in the end) is good... (as someone said in another thread, it's food for the soul).

People being sparked to 'Think' is always good (and needed these days).

People questioning themselves.. meh.. well that can be good too (if it has purpose and leads to something).

Now.. Something which reveals a truthful conclusion, a real answer.. now that is what is really good.

Question it to get answers.. but dont just question for the sake of questioning.

[then again.. im getting older now.. so this is what happens hehe]

Why not? I say question everything.. don't just do something because they tell you to, ask why you're doing it.

I would only add that you must use discretion as to how you spend your limited time on earth. Question what you think might be important, or useful to you. If you wonder, question. If you feel deceived, question. If you want to better understand self, question self.

But I agree, I don't question for its own sake, and I dislike those who argue just to argue, and in the end I learn that they did not believe what they were defending. They just wanted to argue. That is something I don't do.

OK, fair point, and I agree.. you need to choose your battles. But still.. question eveything that seems odd to you, don't just do something, find out why you're doing it..

I always did that, and it is a tough row to hoe. It would have been far easier to just accept everything. I couldn't. Teachers got annoyed, parents thought I was just being goofy, friends called me a 'conspiracy nut'.
    Very few understood.
The Shakespeare line, "Methinks he doth protest too much." is one that I find to be a good clue that someone is lying.
The more they sell their story, the more likely it is a lie.
