That's exactly what I was getting ready to say...

John Lennon's murderer (The Beatles themselves have said that he must be known only as He Who's Name We Must Not Mention, so in that tradition that's exactly what I'm doing) was going all nuts about that book to the press after what he did. At one point during his "kick", for lack of a better term, he kept saying that he knew that it was all to "promote the book".

    Gives me the creeps.

It was the first time I had ever heard of the book, and I simply cannot disassociate it from what happened to John because of all that... nonsense (I'm being kind here ;) ). So for that reason, I personally do not touch it and have no desire to read it.

    But that's just me.

This book is wonderful. I picked it up when I was twelve years old. Everyone thought I was really strange to be reading it at such a young age as it's quite adult but I didn't care. It was so good. It will completely engross you. Definately read it.
    Peace

I'm reading this book right now. Im about halfway through it, and so far it is pretty good, but I can't say that it's been as good as the last two books i read, "A Clockwork Orange" and "Fight Club". But It may be better than both by the time I finish. Who knows???

    it doesn't get better
if you liked A Clockwork Orange, check out my favorite book A Wanting Seed (also by Anthony Burgess) it's about a future with population control in which people are encouraged to be gay, reject religion, and so forth, very very interesting book
and if you liked Fight Club, I would recommend two of Pahlahniuk's other works Invisible Monsters, and Survivor

oo. How was Clockwork Orange I've been thinking about reading it. Anyway, I love "Catcher" most books illustrate, but this one has a purpose. To expose the phonies, not only in the book but in real life

    Clockwork Orange is incredible
and way better than the movie =)

though Clockwork Orange was too challenging for me the first time I tried to read it when I was about 13 (I wasn't much of a reader then)

Yes I agree that catcher in the rye is one of my all time favorites I would definitely recomend it, and as for A clock work orange I have actually been trying to find it lately--I found this really great website that you put in your zip code and what book you want and it gives you a link to the cheapest one nearest you (if that makes since?) and i found a clockwork orange for six bucks hardback, so yeah...Ill own it shortly :)
