Not true, Pabsy. This bird flu takes down the young and healthy, too. I mean, with normal flus we lose 500,000 a year.

This motherfucker has a 55-75% mortality. If it jumps to person->person transmission WE ARE SCREWED. And we've seen it happen - in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Europe. China naturally fucked it all up by dosing the birds with antivirals --- now it's Tamiflu and pray - if we've got enough which we don't

Not the same disease. If flu immunity helped against others you'd have it once. As it stands we have almost no natural immunity against 'flu.

I think this is just yet another overblown ordeal about disease. Much like anthrax, west nile, and other various scares we've had. We all know these things are real, and they are a danger, but I think that much like the two problems listed above the scope of this problem is not as large as it's made out to be.
