Tibetan divisionists are agaist most Chinese, and just pique the latter, so the CCP let then in.

apparently most Tibetans don't really care that much, and essentially consider themselves Chinese. just what I've heard from travellers who have spent a fair bit of time in China.

uh.. hope that was on topic.

Why, does watching it make me a hypocrite?

Anyway, I only watched the highlights on the news, that was enough.

Credit where credit is due, you know. Despite all the shit surrounding it, you can't deny it was a spectacular show.

Never said you were a hypocrite. It's just that when I don't like something, or disagree with it on general principle, I won't waste my time and energy following it.

As for whether it was a good show or not, I couldn't tell you. I saw about 30 seconds of the entire olympics, while I was waiting to buy a ticket at a bus station.

so, are the olympics over now? who won?

I saw the opening ceremony, but I was really stoned and don't remember much.

Calm down, it's just a bit of banter. I don't really disagree with the Olympics anyway, if it's what people want to do and go and watch, that's up to them. I just find it sad that the world is so obsessed with competitive values, as opposed to compassionate ones. When I rant on endlessly, as you say, about how sport is shit, and fuck the olympics, it's just a bit of banter. I don't understand why you feel the need to be negative about it. It's what people come on here to do, talk about shit, sometimes it's interesting and valuable information being passed back and forth, other times it's just worthless bollocks, nob gags and that.

Anyway, I watched virtually nothing of the Olympics, so I don't really think I wasted any of my time.

As you said, it's just a bit of banter. I am as calm as calm can be.
