    "Winter"

The streets are quite, the moonbeams light my way
The sky turns to violet from a dull grey
The night is cold and the stars are bright
Oh how I do love this night

The tracks of horse’s footprints covered in snow
The feeling of the cold wind blow
I sing to myself as I look into the vast moonlit sky
The beauty of this brings a tear to my eye

The hush of snowflakes hitting the ground
It is so quite I can not here a sound
I look into house windows and see fires glowing
And I look upon this scene knowing,

Knowing I have never felt so full of life
I seem to forget all my grief and, strife
Ah the loveliness, the perfection of this place
As the snowflakes cover me like a fine lace

I take a deep breath and then I smile
I would love to just stand here for a while
Drink in the beauty of this scene
All is covered in white, so majestic, so serene

I hope this is not a dream
And all is as it seems
I wish to stand forever in this stability
Oh how I love the feeling of untouched tranquility

Edit: Never mind. I'd rather put it in its own thread.

screaming, aching, hungry children, stomping on our hopes and dreams. They are haunting my thoughts , the ones that used to be filled with love and beautiful things. The faces of the children, brought to me by my own selfishness, laugh at me, scream at me. They drive me to insanity, and now, all is over, the music died, and the children hunt for their next victem. But we are the only ones to blame, for we have brought this upon ourselves

    Neverending nothingness
    Oblivious to the obvious
    distorting disasterous distractions
    Alusions of splender
    Enlighted in on the dissapointment
    Sucluded from the conclusion
Honerable to those who dishoner themselves
    Confusing distractions
    Empedements of teh sort
Blindes from the falsness of it all.

    Real quick 10 minute poem:
    I flip this around
as my conscience falls to the ground
but it's all words, that's all any of it is
    can ever be
    they grasp the concept
when it wasn't meant to be seen
    they throw it into oblivion
    they tear the haven down
    they spit on this freedom
    as memories fade from sound
once was lost and never to be found
    yonder the wind blows
    and yonder the trees shake
their noble limbs as the earth
begins and lets got to a quake
    and water falls defiant
    upon this land of dreams
and oceans rise above their all mighy seams
    the stars fall faster
    wishes unseen
    and they can't speak
    the curtain's drawn back
    while the show pounds on
the actors aren't told to go home
    and the truth is unveiled
    unraveled, thrust forward
    the cold truth of existence
    for just one instance
    everyone stop to listen
    and everyone stop playing pretend

    Black Holes and Conformity
    cosmic clash
    a symbol's lash, averse memoirs
    time just colors, prismatic fars
just beyond the grasp of what,
    imagination makes us bear
    bottles cases, row of norms
    acquainted fears are borne
shelves are high, no use in games
spin around again, again, and again
    think of them the same

Drum Line, Here We Go Again
stripped to the bone raised to the sky
can't hear a tone cast this aside
truths lie void lies turn true
    fictions apart lives unscrewed
    words uttered
sound made strong lifted it up
    carried by throngs
    whole race dies
    lived such a lie
    time is falling
    here comes the calling

Love? Hate? Where's The "Indifferent" Option?
    i'm coming home
no deeper than imagination can be
    sight with nothing to see
    what's faith if i can't believe
    it's everything
a cure, but i make it a disease
God take me because i hate me

You Really Want To Know My Biggest Mistake?
i ran along the hall, feet slapped through tiles
the floor gave way to stumbled darkness
no sight for seeing, no vision for sight
    surrounded by incongruent bloody night
    and things whipped by me
    dark, lost shawdoes
left a future lost and clouded
running from a past, hardly made true
toward a future filled with you
press the rewind, click the undo
let's try to start anew, take two
this time, i won't include you

The best poets (in my opinion) from these forums rarely post anymore, if ever. I shall make mention of a few now...

    Firebell, Jack_ and Kill_All_Artists.

tis hard to name people though coz there are actually sooooooo many superb poets on here, some that i rememebr the names of, others i forget....the memory doesn't correlate with the greatness though.

here's a collaboration of mine with emily dickenson ;)

I started early, took my dog, and visited the sea
The mermaids in the basement came out to look at me
The frigates in the upper floor extended their hempen hans
They presumed me to be a mouse, aground upon the sands

But nobody moved me, and the tide come and took me away
I thought they'd be nice, but hey, what can I say
I lost my apron, my belt, and my lucky hat too
The sea then ate me up, as wholly as a dew

Then I saw that the ships were following, they were close behind
They were sounding their horns which sounded like a mime
As they came closer, I felt their silver heels
But as I reached for their ankles, I slipped on a banana peel

The waves came upon a solid town, but no one seemed to know
Just what would happen if the sea happened to reach Heathrow
But then it bowed and turned away, then gave me a mighty look
It still had all my clothes, that ocean aint nothin' but a crook

    and incase anyone's interested, here's emily's original..

I started Early --- Took my Dog ---
    And visited the Sea ---
    The Mermaids in the Basement
Came out to look at me ---

And Frigates --- in the Upper Floor
    Extended Hempen Hands ---
Presuming Me to be a Mouse ---
    Aground --- upon the Sands

But no Man moved Me --- till the Tide
Went past my simple Shoe ---
And past my Apron -- and my Belt
And past my Bodice --- too ---

And made as He would eat me up ---
    As wholly as a Dew
    Upon a Dandelion's Sleeve ---
    And then --- I started --- too ---

And He --- He followed --- close behind ---
    I felt His Silver Heel
Upon my Ankle --- Then my Shoes
    Would overflow with Pearl ---

Until We met the Solid Town ---
No One He seemed to know ---
And bowing --- with a Mighty look ---
At me --- The Sea withdrew ---

...I like my version better. :H

    Bitter sweet thoughts
    Lost in electricity
Feel my touch bounce of you with simplicity
    Running through mazes
    Looking for the prize
Take one more step to feel it surprise
    Stomach in my throat
    Acid in my veins
Uncover a appetite for the insane
    Now we're locked up
    Colours in my brain
Feel it leaking into my domain
    I put my foot down
    Let it bleed
    Take some flesh out
    Let it feed
    Now I've lost my sense
    Through these words
    You look through my fence
    I see you peeking
    Can you see me
    See my third eye
    Rise beyond the sea.
