i think the no fat and low fat diets were the worst thing to happen to american society. all they did was replace all that fat with untold amounts of sugar. i can't STAND how every time you go to a restaraunt the food is either deep fried or sweetened. it's disgusting. marinara sauce does not require sugar, people. and honey sauces are putridly sweet.
Yeah. Some of the vitamin water has as much sugar as a can of Pepsi. It's the same gag that was popular in the 60s and 70s when they loaded up breakfast cereals with sugar and added some vitamins to make it sound nutritious. Not to mention schemes of renaming breakfast cereals to make them sound healthy. Like putting a trace of honey in cereal to make it sound healthy when its crammed with sugar. Renaming 'Sugar Smacks' to 'Smacks', 'Super Sugar Crisp' to 'Super Golden Crisp', 'Sugar Pops' to 'Pops', 'Sugar Frosted Flakes' to 'Frosted Flakes', and so on. Doesn't Gold sound so much better than Sugar? .
congrats on your weight loss. I agree that americans eat like shit. I switched to eating mainly unprocessed food (as best as I could) a few years back and I always feel great. it's funny too because it turned me into a complete food snob. people think it's nuts that I haven't eaten fast food in like 5 years.
i also know people who buy into the whole fairy tale way of losing weight, getting stronger, putting muscle on (eg. any diet pill or diet you see on TV and any exercise equipment you see on TV) - people look for the easy way. real success comes with hard work and it doesn't include working out 5 minutes a day or following some quack diet you see on TV. then you got some schmuck online who starts up a business selling crap e-books to the ignorant masses - anyone can come up with a gimmick, market it right and make money off of it and they don't even need real testimonials...
My tummy doesn't take junk food as well as it used to. But I always ate whatever I wanted. Though I was never wholly sedentary.
i live off of coffee, jerky, tuna, cereal, couscous, rice & beans... oh yeah and hot sauce- tapatio, sriracha (sp?), and chipotle tabasco
i looovvvvvvvvveeeee rice and beans. mmmmm. yeah, i do love to cook but i haven't had much time lately. i work full time so i just grab stuff i can take with me and i haven't been eating much lately.. except on the weekends i'll treat myself to sushi or something.
Yeah, sushi and grains-based diets (Indian, Latin American, African). And then there is Meditarranean food. Wait, I think I just went around the world in a few paragraphs.
I envy that guy's moustache. hardcore. prax, around the world is good. my favorites are mexican and thai. but sushi is my favorite food by far, i could eat it every damn day.
Yeah, sushi and rice and beans are a tie! Depends on how drunk I am. The more beer, the more rice and beans!
