my friend and i decided to walk around town while tripping once and this homeless guy asked us for a cigarette. We ended up sitting around philosophizing with him and talking about the state of the world for what felt like an hour..it was probably just 10 minutes, knowing shrooms. He was cool. I still remember his name - Jerry. man i miss shrooms
Well I can't really explain if you have listened their albums but they largely differ over time. They released quite a bit of mediocre and shitty albums as well (80's naturally and 90's too) but I'd say check out their debut, stuff from their middle period like Doremi fasol... and of course Warrior on the edge of time (one of my fav concept albums), and from their later period Palace springs and of course Electric teepee! Early stuff is kind of classic rock with great songs as Hurry on sundown and the likes and gets more psychedelic with every next album, their middle stuff is plain simple psychedelic rock in a way that really suits my taste (lots of spaced out fantasy elements in themes and lyrics which I really like as well) and their later stuff where they more often jam and added more and more electronic elements is also great to just let wash over you. I guess if you don't dig any of those Hawkwind is indeed not spend well on you. And yeah, they are STILL not to be missed live! This in contrast to most other bands from those days that are still doing their thing
