So the only reason Trump is being accused of crimes is because he's running for President again and leading in the GOP polls. The fact that he actually committed such crimes is irrelevant.

Trump's lead in the GOP Presidential polls has slipped slightly, down by about 2% compared to June. As his legal woes mount he could be out of contention by the time of the Republican National Convention a year from now. That's assuming he's not actually disqualified from running.
