    This is so stupid, why is there even a question?

    “No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”

    A person who commits insurrection can't hold any office and they fight over whether the presidency is an office (think Oval Office), if the president is an officer of the United States (as he works from the Oval Office), or if Trump is a person (that may be debatable).
    Gutless cowards.

    And yet it's almost certain that he'll appeal it to the Supreme Court. HIS Supreme Court!

    BTW I'm here in Oregon where the decision whether to disqualify him from the ballot is still pending, so I'm especially interested in how this plays out!

    I suspect the Supreme Court will rule against banning him from the ballot on a federal level and leave it up to the states. If so, how much will it really hurt him? If he's only banned in states he's going to lose anyway, what difference will it make?

    There's no divine right to be on every ballot anyway. Lots of people get disqualified for all sorts of reasons. Many never make the ballot cause they don't get enough signature supporters. So Trump has far more reasons to be disqualified legally and morally.
