THC - Does it have to be heated?

    no, you need to let it sit in the alchohol for a while. crush the weed up, and mix it in with the alchohol and leave it for a few days. 80 proof is enough, though make sure to leave it soaking, and mix it up each day. best is using much higher, like barcardi 151 strength. or everclear and other such full strength alchohols or moonshine. you really want the alchohol caus the alchohol draws out the cannabinoids (and various otuer plant oils), whereas the water draws out various other plant-minerals and particles.

    well, I read somewhere that weed (more in the buds) has THCA, and needs to be heated to be transformed into THC. Even hash requires heating in it's elaboration. although, I do wonder how it functions when you soak it in alcohol or pass butane thru it to make honey oil

    The ethanol probably causes a similar chemical reaction.

    His point was if it DID NOT need to be heated you would not need to do "food preparation" you could just pop a bud in your mouth. Which is definitely much easier than smoking.
