Dateline Springfield,Oregon:

The city council convened on thurday night to consider a new policy regarding theft in the city of Springfield. With the warmer weather,chief of police A.Camus stated that it's been well nigh impossible for our citizens to keep any possesions in their yards and virtually impossible to keep thieves out of our garages,locked doors or not. Home invasions are taking place at the rate of 15 to 20 a night and the thieves are blatantly stealing all the food and most of the artwork that our citizens have on hand. The policy,which met with citizen approval provides for the purchase of 465 pit bulls to be let loose every night at 10 o'clock in town ,to roam freely in hopes that those that are out at that time fit the description of what chief Camus descibes as "meth heads and old people that should be home in bed". The vote was unanimous and animal control was directed to fascillitate the purchase. Off the record ,chief Camus said "this oughta' fix those cocksuckers--and I want my barbecue and black lawn jockey back forthwith". No mention was made on how to collect the dogs come morning,but will be worked out at a later date.
