^^I have seen the Volta 3 times live! my advice? unless you're FAR from the stage, outside... bring some earplugs. my first show I was RIGHT in front next to the left speaker. I could reach cedric's feet, but FUCK, I was deaf for a week. no joke.

nice sig btw, I love Alex Grey. I have a poster of Theologue and three books. Alex Grey's pictures taught me how to trip acid :p

Ahoy … I saw an interview with Nick Cave and he said that he grew a moustache because his wife reckoned that a man without a moustache is the same as woman with one

I'm Christine. I've been on these forums for many years but I've never really been on this forum before because I just recently started my dreads. They don't look too spectacular yet but I am very excited about them!

Thank you :) I started them by doing some backcombing... but right now I am just sort of letting them do their thing. I have really curly, frizzy hair so they are locking up quicker than I thought they would.

Hi my name is Jan, and I've been thinking about dreadlocks for quite sometime now, almost a good year and a half. I've been doing research and reading up on it and i've grown to love the style.

I haven't started them yet but i'm going to be starting them hopefully by new years 2010.

Hopefully it turns out the way i've dreamed.

Ahoy Bro, not having a go at you, but growing locks is not so much about starting something as it is stopping a whole lot of other things.

If you decide that you would like to give your locks some kind of head start in the beginning of next year, you can only do good by going … um … hmm …there’s that word again, ‘neglect’, now already. In other words, stop using shampoos with de-tangling agents and don’t brush / comb your hair … or if you want to ultimately stop using shampoo and only rinse with water and baking soda or whatever then there is no better time than the present.

Check out other threads for discussions on non-residue shampoos vs. no shampoo etc. There are other things, like circular scrubbing, etc, when washing, to increase the matting process, but if you are set on the beginning of next year being a symbolic point for whatever reason, then you should at least stop all the things that prevent your hair matting. :)
